As some of you know, I work as an IT geek at our local community college and the librarians have ask me to compile a list of kustom kulture book titles. I'm starting with much of Robert Williams stuff as well as Pat Ganahl's work. Can I get some quick input here for other? I need to have this list submitted TODAY by 2PM my time. I know, REAL short notice but this is a big thing; a chance to get folks respected in OUR world in a mainstream library! Thanks guys.
How about David Perry's "Hot Rod Kings", or anything from Andy Southard (Custom Cars of the 1950's, Hot Rods and Customs of the 1960's, etc.).
I forgot all about Sam's book until I saw it on an Amazon search. That's on my list. Sam is a great guy and a great teacher too. Oh, and I spelled it that way because you'll find far more related to what I'm looking for in any search then if it's spelled with the 'c', so get off my Kool-Aid.
For early examples of rodding in the Northeast, you might find "Cool Cars and Square Rollbars" a good one.
I've seen that and it's really good. However, they're want to focus on the art side of things; but thanks.
Try "Driving Me Wild" by Leah M Kerr (Published by Juno Books). I have a copy in the bathroom (reading room) along with Andy Southard's books.

Read mine...??? They're "Kustom Kulture" way back in the late 50's/early '60's... They should be in EVERY library... R-

Don't forget Cool Cars, High Art: The Rise of Kustom Kulture by John DeWitt (Paperback - Jan 3, 2002) In fact, just do what I did to find that title: go to amazon.com and type in "art kustom" and click search. Plenty of titles. I like DeWitt's because it's not all about tattoos and beer - just cars and only cars.
I just found out today that Tales of the Rat Fink is now in the Sinclair Community College Library and available for checking out! I was also told that a couple, (undisclosed titles at this point ) have also been ordered but haven't shown up yet. So I guess I've done some good for the culture (or kulture) of the greater Dayton area. Again, thanks for those who offered up suggestions. People actually do listen to me from time to time.
