Let me start by saying this is my first project..so be tolerant of some of the "stupid" questions I may ask. LOL. Anyway, I have a '53 Chevy 4 dr that I got for a steal. I've ripped out the interior and have started just "cleaning" her up. I need to replace floor pans (figure I might as well from front to back) and would like to cut out the old ones. Due to limited funds I do not have new ones yet. My question....should I get the new ones then scribe them in place as not to cut out too much? Any suggestions are helpful. Next question...I need to replace all windows and tracks...Do I have to cut out int. door panel or is using the access panels "easy" enough?

I would not cut floor pannels untill the new ones are laying on top of the rusted area. Do NOT cut door panels out. The car was built the first time with those holes, you can do it too. Sometimes you have to sit and look at it a while to see the obvious. Buy a book at a swap meet that covers your car. It will be money well spent.

Remember, there are often both body and mechaical(ch***is) service manuals.
