Zach, super job you've done so far. I will follow this project till completion. I like the vintage racer concept.

That's a good name for an album or movie.

I'll look forward to watching the progress on this car.

The addition of a "build graphic" at the beginning of the thread is a nice touch, and it shows that you're always thinkin'. (I'm stealing that idea...)

Nice looking work Mr Zack! The tubing sounds like it's thick enough. I would read, and perhaps you already have, about the issue of cracking welds w/the 4130 alloy. I'd simply wish for the heat treating question to be cleared up. (Slow cooled is soft? Frozen is brittle?) Looking forward to more posts.

Awesome work Zack....I love the era you are going after.
Check out the link that I have attached...It's 1950 Hot Rod Magazine articles. Once open, just click on the pic to enlarge and again to enlarge to read article.
    Great build...keep up the updates

ordered a pile of parts and working on designing some of the things i need to make
sort of on hold for a little while till i have the parts to get the suspension done

    Terry,
thanks for the link, thats JimmyB's page....I've been on there quite a bit from here at work....been a great help in keeping my sanity while my car's at home with all the real magazines
