Seen pleanty of suicide front ends, but haven’t seen anything similar for a rear end with a model a or t spring. Has this been done and I’ve just missed it? Anyone have logical pros or cons as to going this route?
Depenning what you think it means?. The cross spring center mount hanging out p*** the frame to hold spring, was used a lot on custom frames for a short lite lbs. car. Ether end could be that way or both. If that's what you mean, then yes,you just missed them so far. The "Pro" for the design is short an lite, the "Con" is if done poorly{=Suicide part of it and the name.
Bracing an very good welds are key. Some builders don't get, that there are big twisting loads as well as up an down going on,so fail to brace well for all loads 360* plus. IF your not a great welder, get help with this part ! My guess is no box?= Is not a pick-up bed to cover rear spring mount. A tip is to,make a little storage behind the seat/don't use the trendy BS airplane looking **** ,use a bench design that the back folds foreword. A pic of my son's T,with seat back open some,an with closed. Room for limited tools,jumpers,fix-a-flat ,fireX an cover for rain.
