Sorry guys ,,the stories my friend ,Lt Col Frank told me about those days in Nam in his F-105 "Thud" just couldn't be fer got about , Summer of '69 was Great! for alot of us ,,but not for many ,,,,
You can Google"" Lt Col Gene Frank"" ,,he has a real hero's history ,,he's a neighbor / good friend of mine here on Table Rock Lake ,MO,,
That's when "Easy Rider" came out. After I saw that movie I went out and bought a 1960 FLH and chopped the shit out of it! In those days Michigan's helmet law said you had to have a helmet per rider but it didn't say you had to wear it on your head.......so I strapped it over my right knee!!! I had more fun on Woodward Avenue!!! It was lawless, drag racing and bike races. In 1970 the cops put the clamps down on racing, but 69 was a fun summer for me!
I had totally forgot about easy rider, that definitely is a summer of 69 flashback http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMqVrUSz62o&feature=related
Yes,,Easy Rider WAS the deal in '69 ,,made me glad i still had my Vincent Black Shadow ,,it was old ,,but still the fastest on the road ,,my girl friend had a Areil Square Four ,,one of the koolest sounding bikes on the planet ,,like a Chevy V-8 with open hedders ,,there wasn't a noise law in Anchorage back then ,YET ,,
Say What !?!! oh ,,i wasn't here then,,not sure where i was ,,just not here ,,but then maybe i was ,,just can't remember fer sure ,,,but those chocolet chip cookies were sure good ,,got any more ??,,LOL,,LOL,,LOl
Thank you Jonnie! I was a teenager in a very small town in south Mississippi with a cheap transistor radio and I stayed awake every night working that dial listening to KAAY-at the time there were no daytime stations I could get until we got this huge console unit and I listened to WABB FM in Mobile and on a rare occasion WZZQ FM in Jackson. But it was KAAY every night for years. Beaker Street rocked.
