Went to the hospital yesterday, they thought I needed another stint. Took a wee camera up to look around Where the blockage is. they can't use the stint....So,I'm gonna be in the open heart club,Most likely the end of the week. But before I went in a thought I'd build a deck lid prop-rod for the trunk. Didn't think a stick looked all that great so I took some .090 alum. and made up a fold up type of brace for the lid...
Nice prop rod.... you'll probably feel better after healing from the surgery. Pop had a 5 bypass and felt a lot better, more energy.
Good luck with the open heart surgery. That shit scares the crap out of me. Hope I never have to go that route. A co-worker had a quad done about 10 years ago and as he was telling us all of the details, I felt like it was happening to me. Had to get out of the room. Hope every thing goes well for you, and hope nothing else is needed.
Hey, it's better to get a By pass than to have not found it and well you know what can happen. It's been 3 years since I got my first stint and the Doc said if I hadn't come in when I did, I'd probably be in the six ft under club. No traditional symptoms, just a bit tired and my jaw hurt. I like the fact that you decided to do some work on the rod before you go in but Man, take it easy until that blockage is repaired or you just might overwork the ol ticker! Good luck and best wishes!
My dad had a quadruple bypass and felt much better after. He had more energy and was stronger. You can do it too.
I had triple by-pass surgery in '99 and it was a piece of cake. Seriously, I was really surprised that there was no pain when I woke up, none. The weird thing is that you have absolutely no energy and it takes a few days to get walking much. I had my surgery done at Methodist Hospital in Indy the weekend of the Brickyard 400---never made it to the race, I had a heart attack at our motel on Thursday evening. My operation was done early Friday morning and I was released on Wednesday afternoon. The first thing I did was go down the street to the Speedway ticket office to renew my tickets for the following year. I rested for a few days then I DROVE home to Buffalo, NY--against my doctors orders. If you have to have the surgery you'll be back in the garage in no time at all!!
My dad had a 5 bypass job 14 years ago & he's 86 & still forging on. I just golfed with a guy today that had a bypass earlier in the summer, together with a recent pacemaker/defib & he out drove the all of us on more than a few holes. You'll be making more than prop-rods in no time flat.
I would run out and get a tat of a zipper on my chest and arrow pointing down with the words saying " lengthen here"! Cool prop rod. Take care!
hope the best fer yer surgery, several of my reletives had open heart work and feel much better. ill say a prayer fer ya. cobey j.
I hope it all goes well. Ya know they call it bypass for a reason....if you don't get it, you will bypass life and miss it all. southern prayers coming your way.
