Not gonna be quite as hot here as it has been (108 degree range). Just gonna be a nice cool 100! Yeap, 'bout par for the course. LOL

Its always hot here at the wrong time...or maybe the cruise is at the wrong time..I sure wish they would move it up to September/ October..Of course that would interfere with the sacred high school football. But it still is the best thing to happen to our hometown.

 

What sort of schedule is there for this event? I'm looking for the best day and time where cars will be parked like a car show.

Folks actually start showing up about Wednesday and by Friday night everything is in high gear. The best day is usually Saturday. You'll just have to drive around to check out the cars. They'll be at the park, motels, eating joints, EVERYWHERE. There is a car show on Sunday, but a LOT of the cars leave before the show Sunday morning. It's more about the whole town being covered up by cool cars all weekend than it is about a car show.

I have not been up for the last couple years ..
but, we always came up on Thursday afternoon and parked in bank parking lot with our motor home

Is that still ok to do . ?
I suppose by now we have a new set of rules to abide to

 

Yea, there are lots of folks that use the big parking lot on the west end of town. There is a new bank that just opened up there, but there should still be enough room for lots of folks.
What kinda car are you thinking about bringing up?

Dodge pickup ..

I have a enclosed trailer I can camp in easy enough for a couple days .
Most likely it will just be me

All my friends never want to go anywhere but possum kingdom lake any more

 

Cool Dodge truck...come on up.There will be room for everybody.

This is a great get together in a great town!!

Lots of really neat iron all in one place.

We gonna head up there on Saturday, check it out and get Luke to make us a burger, then head on up 287 and make it to Bonneville by Sunday nite!!

All, we'll be one block west of the Ford/ Fiat (dodge- just kidding) dealer at an old service station, or at Larry T's on 2 blocks east of the square...look us up and say hello...Bonneville sounds like a blast.

Bringing my truck and Roadster. Know quite a few coming down from Borger.

 

I just pulled into Wichita Falls for some military edjumacation gonna head up for the swap to see what you Tejas boys got. I'll be here till November let's get a meet and greet this weekend would love to have some hambers to hang with while in here in Texas.

 

Got my registration confirmation. Sounds like it might be pretty neat. Gonna try and make it in the 56. Leaving at 5am Thur, no A/C. Hope to hole up in hottest part of the days under some shade tree's. Wish had the the new tapered chrome reverses and silvertowns on for it.

 

Any Hambers gonna have a meetup or anything?

 

Sounds like a good idea. I wish we could do it at my place, but I turn it over to a friend every year and he's a "crowd control" nut.
A get together at one of the parks or a HAMB breakfast or lunch might work.

Let's get it goin Saturday. I've never been so I have no idea where anything is but I'd love to hook up

 

Tell us where we will be there. Braum's has breakfast and burger. There's a little drive in called Vernon's Burgers, A McDonalds, Norman's Seafood, Chicken Shack, Brown Cow and Mestizo Mexican. That's about it for restaraunts in Vernon. We're here Thursday afternoon if someone know's of any other places they would like for us to check out.

 

Last year registration was at a park in the South of town. Lots of parking and shade. Lots of people sat under the trees and checked out the cars on Fri. and Sat. Justa thought.

 

Yea, Orbison Park has the best shade of anywhere in town. Everyone is gonna have to go there to sign up too. Plus, there's supposed to be a swap meet. It's usually not anything to write home about, but who knows what will show up there.

Me and a buddy are heading over there Saturday AM. Probably get there about noon and search for a parking spot till about 10 or so then head back. We will be in my 38 Chevy coupe so stop by and say hi if you see us.
