Technical Sun Dwell Tach 7601 hookup

I just picked up a good looking 7601 and I know in normal hookup 12v negative ground the black goes to ground and red goes to coil output from distributor.

So the question of the day is.... On 6v positive ground do these leads get swapped around? Just trying to make sure I don't short something out before checking things out.. In theory it makes sense but we all know that can get weird also. Or does the unit not care and only senses the differential between the leads?

Ground is ground, points are points. Doesn't matter if positive or negative ground.
