Recently purchase a Sun SST-70 Super Tach that is an exact duplicate of the one I had in my first car (30 Model A with a 270 HP 283 in it) 60 years ago. Want to put it in my AV8 build. It's the head only without the transmitter box. Sent it out to Bob's speedometer for conversion to a stand alone unit. Their quote was $800. I had them send it back. I got $200. in the unit, and I wasn't going to have the thought in my head that a grand was spent on it every time I looked at it. Further investigation on the internet and I found the TachMatch TM 03 module that's supposed to replace the original transmitter box for around $80. Has anyone tried this route and was it successful?
don't they make one that looks just like that which is all in one unit? seems like i have one around here somewhere that was in my OT Hot Rod Datsun

Another happy TachMatch user here...also works great if you use 4 or 6 cyl. tachs on a V8 (or vice versa).
