I want to install this vintage Sun Tach in the 39 Plymouth coupe that is almost done and I would like it to be functional. The transmitter I have is for 6 volt 6 cylinder..I see the 12 volts for sale untested so can someone turn my current one to 12 volt or other thoughts? Thanks Joe
get a Tach match unit. 75 bucks. heres a thread about it https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-famous-sun-football-tach.1297271/#post-14930192
@spillaneswillys no help on your question except whats been recommend Tach Match .. When it comes to a Seller saying UnTested I wonder how many already know None Working ! ? There reason I say this , I see so many Vintage Speedo's saying Untested , Because if working big difference in price /value,, The ones Selling / Flipping Have not stuck a screw drive or drill in to Check , to sell as working for more?
I agree with Eddy why not test it. That being said I am not sure how to text them. I am going to contact Williamson's today and talk to them. This tach is so damn cool I have to use it. Thanks for all the info. Joe
before you spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on this (last guy that posted about this was quoted 800 bucks) look here SHARE POST#207 https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sun-tach-to-hei.1322021/#post-15340100 The way to test would be to hook it up to a car. but those transmitters have batteries inside and I am sure that they are junk by now and there is no replacement for them as they are 1.3 volts. take the cover off the trans and look. every one I have messed with have been corroded beyond help. The tach match unit is small and will fit inside the transmitter...
