I found this receipt among some papers I have. I sent my tach to Sun, and they repaired it for me. I sent the tach head and box. I still have the tach, but I can no longer get batteries for it.
A couple of long shots. I have heard (and this is legit), that the batteries are available Soviet military surplus. Where you can get them is a search on Google, maybe? Also, if you know someone that is even a little electronics savvy, they should be able to come up with a power supply to provide the proper current in place of the batteries. These days, such things as voltage boosters and reducers are easy to find and cheap. All batteries supply DC power, so it would just be a matter of finding the proper components to change to the voltage previously supplied by the batteries. One thing to be careful of is "dirty power".
The correct mercury batteries are sold by a fellow in Russia at the website listed below, but it seems to not work now. Maybe blocked due to sanctions on Russia or similar: https://www.px625.ru/
