Technical Sun tachometer IT266. Need transmitter??

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Showing-Cords, May 6, 2023.

  1. I took this from a 1971 Mobilux Cruiser motorhome. I'm pretty sure it was stock. It was nicely installed anyhow. I'd like to put it to use but I can't find a clear answer on if I need a transmitter box or not. Being that the tach says it's for an 8 cylinder engine I kind of think it doesn't need it but I don't want to hook it up and find I was wrong, then fry it. If you guys have an answer I'll go with it.

no transmitter needed. If it needed one that tag would have told you which one it needed. Hook up the "trigger" to the coil minus (points) and the ign to 12 v hot with the key on and make sure the housing has a good ground and you are all set. just out of curiosity, lets see a pic of the face
