what size and type screws are others using to fasten Fulton visor. Stainless screws or self threading bolts? I am installing it on '41 IHC. I intend to use some Loc***e. I just dragged this home for $75
Google Fulton Sunvisors and there should be a few parts suppliers. I got the correct screws for mine but I forget the company. I think that would look better on my '47 Buick Sedanette so if you ever want to sell I will at least double your cost! LOL
I did pull up a great installation guide but no list of fasteners. I will go with self tapping machine screws. Interesting that the underside of all Fulton visors is pale green for a reason regardless of exterior colour of vehicle originally installed on.
Don't use the self tapping! I will try to find the supplier that I got mine from. I think they are supposed to be a barrel type. Let me check or sell it to me!
Im m***aging the "wow" out of it with the palm of my hand and a stick. Successful so far. No way I would want to kink the aluminum. I'd like to get the paint on this weekend
Yeah you got it for a good price MORE IMPORTANTLY, make sure you tighten/clamp it down real good, or they can become airborne.....don't ask how I know
This is the bracket I made up when I installed the 1000 series Fulton on the 41 Plymouth Coupe I had.......here in Oz they are very rare, I imported mine form the US and didn't want to see it disappear in the rear view mirror........trucks had a huge effect when they went past.......lol.......this was made from stainless steel and was a vast improvement on the original bracket.....I also left the underside in grey primer which blended in with the grey upholstery when viewed from inside........I like some bling so I polished the end brackets .............andyd
My windshield cranks out so I may make a centre windshield bracket that could adjust from inside cab. First I have to repair the cracks in the original hardware. Just noticed these today. I hope aluminum brazing is strong enough. Not sure if I will get to painting visor this weekend. Don't want to have to repair hardware twice. The rake of the visor must be considered. Too much not good, too little and ya airborne is possible. I'm sure there are plenty of stories of "look WTF my visor did!"
So I decided against using the Fulton visor and picked up another visor that clamps onto drip rail. One of clamps is missing but I got some stainless steel to make a few with. This is a Casco brand.
I made the fastener required and was removing paint from centre piece when wife pointed out "the design on each side". Had not noticed the very vintage pinstriping
