So- to the point.... I have to alter my brake pedal arm for obvious reasons. My concern is side loading the arm more than it is,and being straight is what should be the norm, but not in this case..... 3/8 thickness, and a 2'' movement needed..... Also into play,is that the pad is clocked towards the right, and I will reverse that. My concern is that this is the STOP pedal, and i'll need it more than anything else, with a 2'' alteration, will I be cool to do so without risking my A$$?
Geometry will be spot on,and I will melt it together like my life depended on it(actually does).
I usually don't ,and never faulter with braking what-so-ever,but in this case,I have to make adjustments, and here they are.......If I'm cool, then whew!,I'f I'm risking my life,do say so,unless you know me! Ha! :)
    Thanks-Kid

  2. I don't like it. Helluva lot of side loading on a not-too-generous bearing surface. Could you simply flip the pedal mount to the other side and accomplish the same?? Or is the column in the way of the arm?? Too, could the engine-trans be shifted over an inch?? I always set the engine to the right of center, same as the factory does (on late models).

The pedal is the easy part..... Moving the arm is also easy, but to what expense.......
Only has to travel X distance, but the side load is my concern here..... Engine/trans are straight centered, and won't be moved.
It would be over-engineered structurally to say the least......
Anyone else? Someone's had to do this!

I bought a pedal****y. from Pete & Jakes, had a similar problem, The told me I could heat it or cold press it and it wouldn't hurt the strength, I bent it in a press with a 1.50" offset. no problems.

Is it possible to re-engineer the mount onto the frame rail, so the whole unit sits further to the left? That way the off--set doesn't have to be so great.

Thanks for the replies.....working with a "non stock " frame that is a lil narrower than a stock A. Cant move the master outboard of the frame rail- pictured it.=wont jive with sub rails,etc....Cant really***** it in to the frame with the 1/2'' i'll get, still no bueno. With the bend in the arm now,I still need the 2''. Reasoning= flipped firewall, the A/T,and no room for a go pedal. Using throttle linkage, and not a cable (choice).
Looking at cutting/splicing to get the desired fit. I'll bust out the arc to melt it.
Just riding the safety wave here.........Thanks All.........
    3/8 thick,with a few additives at connections.... plates/rosettes......

Why can't you remove that spacer thing the pedal bracket is bolted too? If you could bolt the pedal bracket directly to the side of the frame it seems you'd gain an easy inch there. If you need more you could inset box the frame for a foot or so and gain even more room. All with no pedal bending.
