This isn't really a model but a die-cast that I modified to sort of replicate a 40 Ford my dad owned when he was younger. I had some of his old photos to use as a guide. Nothing really that great or detailed but I thought I'd post it anyway. The photo was from about 1957. That's my pop in front.
Nice Skirv......... I dug out some of my old models that I built @15-20 years ago.....going to 'restore' 'em...he he he. These are my STREET FREAKS.... Monogram '55 Chevy, Blown 327, (2) 600 afbs, Muncie 4 gear, aluminum slots, chrome straight axle, ladder bars..... A Monogram '66 Chevelle SS, Blown 427, twin 750 douple pumpers, Muncie 4-spd, 4.11 12-bolt, ladder bars, VHT white painted headers, Superior Slots..... And an MPC '57 Chevy Bel-Air, Blown 350, twin holley 650's, Muncie, 3.90 gears, Cragers front, Keystones rear with slicks, ladder bars.....I've had this model a looooong time, got it by sending in the wheels you cut out from the side of the box's on MPC "Golden Opportunity" kits. Remember those???
Got back from NNL West late last night. Here are some pics: More here: http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/gowjobs/models/NNLWEST07/
DAMN! Those are sick!!! Thanks for postin' Gow!!! Here's a '64 Impala SS I'm redoing...I think it's an old AMT...it's crude with an undercarriage that has the exhaust, rearend, etc. molded in along with the straight metal axles. I cut the inner fenderwell off to get it this low...... 409, 4-speed, 14" Cragars and it'll get bellflower tips, black paint with a purple 'flaked roof........
this is interesting concept. 28/29 Sedan with the Cowl removed and a flat firewall, engine set back. could be done in real life
Awsome pics!!!!!!!!!! That 34 altered and the altered roadster caught my eye. This week i hand painted a wolfman shift knob, started work on a 35 chevy modified also. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v211/raphate/Models/Shift Knobs/
heres what i've been working on this weekend the hood would not fit unless i cut it out for the fan and distibutor keith
just a question what kind of putty do you guys use? can i use automotive,or will it react to the plastic. just bought 5 models today and would like to ty some custom work
Dito, i use bondo spot putty also. Less than 2 bucks. make sure you wash models with dish soap to wash off mold release. just a extra precaution so the bondo doesnt lift. Lay it on thin also.
