thanks! testors inca gold. I wish I had cleared the hell out of it, its a little 'rough, but the paint covers real nice. Zed, great imp. not just the paint but the details and super clean build as always. and I really like that 63 ford truck resto! I wish I could get one of those for $2! what is it about the frigid temps that seem to bring out all of the fantastic models?
this sunday thing just gets better all the time. great builds everyone. heres one i dont think ive shown.
Damn this car reminds of this car my Dad did from a original 3 in1 AMT kit from the 60's He gave it to me along time ago and I 've been able to keep it all this time. Your's is WAY-Y-Y better, but you can see the lines! Mel
I love those old kits, I just got a similar 49 from ebay to restore. its cool to see how folks built them back in the old days!
One question for you guys,do you foil after the clear or before? amazing work here ! Someday I'D like to build again.
Wow some kool stuff here this week. I been sick all weekend and did not finish anything. Did work on my sectioned shoe box a lil today. Zed I was just thinkin about doing something like that to my original 58 Impala model. But maybe I will take one of the 58 wagons now. nice very nice Zed.
As usual, Zed's paint is amazing! I've posted some awful pictures of this before, but I tried to at least take pictures that you can tell what it is this time. This is a '40 Ford Sedan that my dad built. It is a real '60 Ford lavender color. Edsel grill molded in, hood reworked. '59 Olds taillights. It won a couple of model shows in the early '60s. The pictures include a couple of trophies, including a "best paint" and "best model" in an R&C contest in 1962. Dad said he used some kind of lead-based body filler that was meant for real cars to mold stuff. He said it was painted three other times, and he remembers it being yellow at one point. I just remember this orchid color, obviously. It has always been haging around. I've got it in a case at my house now. Everything about it is exactly like it was. It hasn't been fixed up or restored or anything. It was built in the early '60s, and hasn't been altered since. Also, if you like old toy cars from the '50s/'60s, I posted a story with a bunch of pictures here, FYI. http://www.examiner.com/x-10974-Kan...rom-a-simpler-time-but-theyre-not-that-simple
Some really great models this week. Zed that looks amazing. I was wondering when you where going to finish that one. This is one that you were talking about in Kustoms illustrated.
