Ok has been a while since I have posted much on the HAMB!
Here is a peek of what I am currently working on. Solido 1/18th diecast '34 fordor being converted to a tudor. Have a whole bunch of construction shots, will post them another time.

PS Here is a shot of the body before I started cutting. I also added the wheels. This model is listed in the Solido catalogue as a '35 Yellow cab. I also removed all the cab markings!

I have bought a lot of diecast this last year and have been working on a number of projects. Here is another!
The mating of the Muscle Machines 1/25th Willys with the D-rods '39 Dodge Airflow tanker. A lot of work went into this to get everythnig looking right. Paint will be a deep violet, which I am presently doing.

Ok last one for this week.
I know there alot of guys out there that like some of the Aussie cl***ic muscle cars. So here is a recent release from the Australian company Biante. The models that Biante/Autoart produce are world cl***.
    www.biante.com.au
This 1/18th diecast model is a replica of a 1973 Holden Monaro coupe.
The first two images are as it came straight out of the box and the last image is after I lowered it. I just can't help myself!!!

Awsome diecast work Geoff. I really like the fordor. And that Holden looks bad*** lowered.

This week i started working on my anglia for my diorama, complete with rusty cragar S/S wheels..lol. The anglia is painted with craft acrylics... wanted to try something differant.

The Elcamino isnt finished at all...need to add the colored rust, have the texture formed now, then il blend in the base coat paint, to soften the edges of the rust so it doesnt look so 3D.

    I've been working on a 1/8 scale "Blig T"

All the linkage is scratch built from bits of plastic.

Nothing new from me this week - hopefully, I'll have pics from NNL West next week for you guys.

GREAT conversions - as always - Whodaky.

That willys is sick-cool and the Deuce is coming along nicely, too!

What is that rust effect done with? Are you using one of those "real" rust systems, or Rust-All?

I tried to find this kit, and some others. I ordered it at one train store in Stockton and when I went to check on it a week later and the shop was gone. I tried egay too a few times.

Hey Purple, try ebay, go to the toy and hobbies section, then the train section. Type in ''Jordan'' and they will pop up. They make 2 hotrods, a 32 ford 5 window like mine, and a roadster version of it. They also have model T and sedan A's in stock form. But im sure you can grab the 32 hotrod and make a A or T sedan rod with the 32 ch***is. they also have AA's to.

I tried in the past. I do have different Jordan models, Ts and As, Mack trucks, and the 40 Ford. I built the T delivery and the 1903 Olds pair. I will look again of course cuz I want it.

If you do find that kit (I only have one, i want to keep it), my friend makes a chopped resin body for it. Its tiny, but he chopped it a few scale inches, and it looks flawless.

Ok, listen...we all know what the HAMB is about, and what people come here to see. Traditional hot rods, custom cars. What makes it acceptible to show off latemodel stuff, musclecars, and blinged out modern street rods? If I want to see that **** I can go to any of the numerous model boards. The beauty of the Sunday Model Post is seeing HAMB style cars built in scale. If you wouldn't show off the 1:1 version on the board, then keep the model off too.

Yeah - I can dig that, even if some of my builds kinda push the boundaries a bit.

Well to me it is about the models.
If you think that the Monaro images I posted don't belong here, then that is your problem Fidgiter.
Actually I don't believe in what is known as off topic. To me the HAMB is more than what you refer to as 'HAMB style'. Guess I see things differently.
I guess I shouldn't post here any more?

It wasn't about your builds Geoff. The "bling wheels" wasn't directed at you, the vast majority of what you post is pretty wild and on topic. The monaro, while cool, is still not something I care to see here. Every now and then is ok.

This was more in response to the flatbed latemodel Ford and the Vega.... You might as well be posting model battleships and samurai figures.

For whatever it's worth, BOTH you guys do par-excellence work with models; I like to ***ess the overall picture by giving credit to the model builder for imaginative builds...even if they're occ***ionally off the "beaten path". Keep up the good work! That's the bottom line. Nice posts guys!

    just for you self rightious ***holes;
not only is it too new; it's an IMPORT!!!!
    Now for the important stuff;
I've always wanted an early courier, or better an early mazda b-series. I bought this kit, but it had a hokey *** stepside bed, so I made up a flatbed for it.
Then I found the real thing, so I took it apart, painted it Catapillar yellow, and scratch built a bed out of spare tonneu(sp?) covers.
I'm still yet to build the grille, I've decided to do the 4 headlight mazda grille.

I have to disagree aswell, sure i love all types of hot Rods steel wheels to billets and sure this is a hokey site but there is more to the hot rods and model world than primer and steel wheels, i build high end customs from hot rods to new mini cooper/vette to VW beetle with a 421 SD pontiac in it lol so dont see anything wrong with that, ecs if there well exucuted and done very nicely most of my builds are projects with an average of 6-9 months build time
my 56 mercedes Gullwing for instance new name "Wingless flyer"
has many subtle and major mods with a mustang 2 concept car roof and dash incorporated into the car shortned hood a dual turbo charged nascar motor and a custom ch***i many mods etc,
Not sure about everyone else but i think the different ideas and fresh builds are what people want to see stuff that they never thought of and can share with others including techines etc i have a few customs to show, and would be glad to but heah if you wanna see primer im not your man lol good work though love what i see

  26. Guys...this is a traditional Hot Rod and Custom site.
The models are here to further that venue.
This is a hot rod and custom site...not a custom model site.
I love the plastic too but, I go to the resin forums for that stuff.
    Oh Mr Moderator....your call.

I don't doubt your skill or how much time and effort you've put into the models. They are very well done. Your different ideas are what people want to see....on OTHER boards where that high-tech and late-model styling is praised. Here, the -majority- of people dont want to see that. And paint vs. primer is not an issue at all, that is a mute point.

The post started because some of us were posting our traditional model builds in the Friday Art Show threads. There were enough models posted that it was decided to start a separate Sunday Model thread. So thats what happened and so far it's been cool. The Sunday model thread is not here to show off models. It is here to show off models that the board can appreciate.

Another ****ogy....you don't see people posting landscapes and fruit baskets in the Friday Art show do you?
