Holy ****, I checked out your Fotki thingy and your weathering techniques are amazing! I just started a 36 Ford that I'm shoehorning a Boss 429 into. I should have a couple pics up next week.

Excellent build Ryan. I build WWI aircraft as one of my many hobbies. I checked out your site, you do some amazing work. I appreciate that. Take care!

Guys, those trucks look so real I can almost smell moldy upholstery. Here's one with a little shine:

    Nice!

Omega, the truck's looking good. I'll have to shoot pics of this old Jeepster ant T-bird survivor I did a few years back. The 'bird is what remains of one of my
very first solo build when I was about 9.

I think I'll finally post a couple of pics of my handy work. The flat black '32 is my version of the big deuce. The '57 is an Amt kit turned g***er. And the other '32 is the Revell kit with the engine from the '48 Ford.

These are not models so I hope they qualify. They are 64th scale die cast. Some or Hotwheels, some are Johnny Lighting and some are racing Champions.

I finally got my air compressor to run long enough to paint a few cars that I had tore apart. So I added the Cobra and the F-100 to my Hollywood Knights set and I started my Gumball rally set.

Now the compressor runs but won't build up pessure! That's okay, maybe I'll figure it out while I round up the last 4 cars I need for the Gumball Rally set. The Porsche 911 Targa, the Police car, the Ferrari and the Mercedes 300 SL roadster (which is going to be a hard one to find in this scale).

Here's the T-bird I'd mentioned earlier. Only one shot came out worth a darn and it's only fare. I built this, originally, as a kid, it was Testors green and flat black. It has survived a 2 story drop onto cement and several firecracker ***aults, the grandaddy of them all being a large rocket strapped to its rear deck. It didn't fly but it scooted up the street about 10 feet, shot 3 feet up into the air while spinning a half dozen, or so, 360s. Like frankenstein, it was reanimated. The scares from the rocket, as you'll see later, were used to create some of the rust at the weld seams behind the pkg. tray.

Here's the wrecking yard's work horse. (more detail shots later.)

I did this when I needed a break from working on my student film back in '89.
Most of the stuff I do now-a-days, for the same reason, are half done. that, plus I'm trying to get my kids into it as an alternative to drugs and alcohol.

Don't know much about the kit other than it's a really cool score.
Can you post pictures of the parts set out on display? Maybe for next
    weeks model thread?
Oh, and keep that box in good shape too.

The finishes are amazing guys! I may have to look into getting some of mine painted...I do a lot of metal models, some based on specific cars and bikes and others more "custom." Here are a few of them:

  23. OK, a question for you model gurus.................I need a kit for a 28/29 Tudor Sedan to plan for my Full size Tudor project. I vaguely recall Revell may have had one? Is therre anyone producing an easy to find kit right now?

Josh, I've been building models since about 1958. You make scupture, not models. Very nice. You should post your work in the Friday art shows elsewhere on the Hamb. I'm sure you will get great reviews. They do not need paint. I like them with this sand blasted look. I'd even hate to see them rusty. Gary

The short answer is - No
    Revell have a 30/31 Tudor.

There are a number of resin 28/29 bodies available and the best of these by far is from Hendrix Manufacturing. They can be a little hard to get (Speaking as an Aussie) but worth the money - it does not appear to be currently offered but you may be able to order one through these folk.
    http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/STARModels.html
The mold was taken straight off the original AMT kit from the 60's This kit was re-cut into the 28/29 Woody which will be needed to complete the Hendrix Kit which includes seats etc.
R & R Vacuumcraft also do one but their quality is a little inconsistent and should be bought at a swap meet where you can check it out

Ok chopt49. How did you chop it? I have this model an have stared at it for hours, trying to figure out how. I wantrd to take a "Brian B***" approach but this is just a thick 7" piece of plastic.
