Since I didn't find a Sunday Models thread here already, I guess I'll kick it off this week..... Kustom Kemps in Miniature celebrated it's 25th anniversary last Saturday, March 7th, with the annual spring meet in Davenport Iowa. Lots of great stuff was on the display tables..... Cedarville Model Show.... The next day, March 8th, was the toy show and model contest in Cedarville Illinois. Some 200 models were entered.... Here's some of the cool stuff..... More pics at the link.... http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c214/marty1961/Model Shows/Cedarville 2009/
Yihaaa, nice to see all the models. Some really nice stuff there I don't know if you are aware of: H.A.M.B. Plastic Model Builders ? Come and join in! Sunday, yes... I am almost done with my darn 1964 T-bolt. Have to post it something today so I'll do my best...
I think I may have to make it to the Cedarville show next year, I checked and it is a 5 hour drive one way for me, but it looks like it would be worth it!!
I attended the MDA show in Roanoke, Va last weekend. Lots of neat work on display! I thought I'd share some that I found interesting (not mine)
well yesterday i went to my clubs show, didn't win. however when i went to the portland roadster show w/my club i won 2nd best junior pick up. here is the model that won that
Nice T-bolt, Johnny. I have one of those waiting to be built. I see some nice pics from shows here. I especially like the salty 606. Here are some shots of my 1/8 scale 3 window early modified dirt car. A lot of the parts were scratch built. the body is an aftermarket resin from edeuce.com.
A co-worker bought this kit at a yard sale and asked me to build it for him. AMT 55 Chevy pickup "street machine".
Looks a lot like the '55 Chevy that was a cover truck for Cl***ic Trucks recently. Owner: James Austin. http://www.cl***ictrucks.com/features/0901clt_1955_chevy_3100_pickup_truck/index.html "Gary's specialty is custom paints, and he came up with a light green pearl metallic that literally made my jaw drop. This color reminded me of the colors that I would spray on my model cars in the early 1960s."
Wow, the Kustom Kemps in Miniature is 25 years old!! Although I never was able to attend this show, I used to recieve it's newsletter and kept tabs on it through my very good friend, the late Russ Schuelter. He was a great modeler and tireless promoter of car modeling and street machine activities. He was an original founder. Thanks for the great photo's of the show Nitro Marty! I'm digging all the models shown here today. Fantastic builds! A special mention to you car toon, that dirt tracker coupe is outta sight, man! Such realism that can be attained in that 1/8th scale. Your build is outstanding. Joel
53olds: congrats!! The 37 turned out real fine! I'll see if I can find mine someday. I have moved 2 times since I started on that kit so I have to dig deep..
Here are a few of my 1/25 Dragsters, all are br*** ch***is, steerable front ends and scratch built. Magicar Body is all br***
congrats 53olds. you shud put that up on model page. lota model action on main page today. heres a few more. lol
Yep 'ol Uncle Russ was one of the original Kemps members and a damn great guy!!!!! Only myself and president, John Berry, remain as members from the original six.... I've never missed a single Kemp's meet in 25 years... Plan on being there for 25 more!
Here is the progress picture I took while building the Loukas & Preising Fuel Coupe Bantam a few years ago
