Odd color combo, 50 Olds visiting friends Hello, I was trying to find a fastback 50 Olds for this new project and looked everywhere. This is what the 50 Olds looked like before it went to the paint remover guy.(ME) Many months ago, I was messing around in my garage with the 59 Chevy wagon and had just started painting it with what I thought was the correct color from 1959-60. The idea of the Gene Adams Oldsmobile Fastback had been popping up in my mind for a while, so I bought one as the 59 Chevy wagon was in its early, building stages. I had to remove and refinish the white 59 Chevy wagon color as I got the word from my wife that her family’s wagon was not white, but a pinkish color. (GM Satin Beige) So from this photo on, a refinishing job was started again on the station wagon. By this time, I was wondering how to refinish the Olds Fastback into the color of the Gene Adams Gas Class sedan. Jnaki Disassembly was simple. Refinishing the odd-ball stock paint and the first coat of dark blue was applied. After three coats of paint, sand and repainting, it was ready for detailing.
Looks a lot better than stuff I built when I was nine. Nice stance, at least it's not a tail dragger like the stuff I built back then.
That’s pretty awesome that you still got it after that long and being that young when you built it! Most of mine up till maybe 12-13 were destroyed in some kind of hairspray and model glue flaming crash! LoL!
I like your new build idea edcodesign....it got me thinking... ya I try to do that occasionally... so I looked over the pictures you have there and dug through my parts stash and pulled parts that looked similar and come up with this stuff....a Monogram body for starter's plus and I am pretty sure I could even match up the tire and wheel combo plus I have alot of flat head stuff.....your probably well on your way with yours already but if you are interested in any of those parts for your project send me a PM and I will get them headed your way .... Great parts, look forward to your build. My kit is lousy in my opinion. I am stumped on the exhaust. Thanks for the likes ! Ed.
Well Ed it looks like your moving right along with it...how you doing with your exhaust? I have the model T version of that kit I took the exhaust pipes out and temporarily set , no glue , them up for reference if it helps ....if you need another set let me know , I'm not using this set , I will drop them in the mail for you.....Terry (aka) Rudestude Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

What else would you give a former B-52 driver with two tours over North Vietnam for his 80th birthday?
Monogram 34 Ford almost done,60s body, top and interior with a 90s version fenders, frame and suspension.
A couple more done, the 51 did not turn out as nice as I was wanting but good enough and the 40 was built with spare parts.
Starting on a 34 Ford coupe but going to put a 4 cylinder motor in it,found out they were available with fours and look very close to a A motor.
Flames have always been a part of my hot rod era, growing up. What more could be said than GIANT flames rolling around the neighborhood and in your own driveway? In order for the custom paint scheme on our favorite cement mixer trucks, I painted one side for a custom Robertson and the other for Gary Bale Redi Mix. Drawing/painting on curved surfaces was difficult, with many “re-do” lines/colors to get it looking alright. Hello, The only day of the week that this red cement mixer truck with the flames or just the one with the red cab/white mixer isn’t seen is Sunday. So, it is appropriate to commemorate that with a model that I tried to emulate. What is more So Cal than construction of new homes in order for more people flowing into a newer section of their lives? These trucks are always on the road everywhere in So Cal. It is fascinating that homes can be built on a poured concrete slab just about anywhere. Watching the process involves many people, but the finished product is pretty amazing. We have been in So Cal for so long that we have used two separate cement companies for patio cement pour and a driveway pour. One was the 48 year old company, Robertson’s and the other one, Gary Bale Redi Mix have been pouring concrete for 43 years. Their trucks are similar in that they use the McNeilus, Mack concrete trucks with a few differences. One was my son’s favorite as he always said, “Look, the flame cement truck!” knowing I loved flame painting and drawing. The recognition continued with our granddaughter, as a toddler, riding around in her car seat looking out… “a flame truck!” The hot rod look on a giant cement truck…is/was outstanding. I can’t imagine what the flame painter said when he was contracted to paint all of the red trucks. Or... what he said as he was painting the custom flames on the mixer. It was hard enough to paint the continuing flames on a little, circular, model mixer from the toy truck, let alone paint the scheme onto multiple, large, curved, cement mixers. Kudos to the flame painter for his skills over the years. I know my son and his friends loved seeing the flames rotate as the mixture is being tossed around in the semi-hollow container. Geez... I was always impressed with the idea that someone had painted custom flames on a cement mixer. The Robertson's red trucks stand out just because they are red. But, there are so many of them rolling around So Cal to all of the construction sites, they are hard to miss. Especially, if they are in your rear view mirror. Jnaki Both of the companies' red and white cement trucks have been all over So Cal for the past 40+ years. You can’t help but see one daily. With all of the construction going on in South Orange County, we will continue to see these trucks for a long time to come. A new concrete garage floor, driveway, or outside patio? Your cement contractor will probably contract out one of these company’s red cement mixers. BEACH CITIES OFF RAMP to the Dana Point Harbor, from I-5 Freeway NORTH
