Had one of these Revell models a few years ago that I used to help design a 2dr conversion full size build I have been working on. Used the wagon roof grafted to a diecast 2dr model. I later took the Revell body and the diecast roof to make a 4dr hardtop that a collector bought from me at a flea market.
I will accept two demerits for posting on a Wednesday . . . Here's the story: Everyone knows Big Daddy Roth's first car - Tweedy Pie, a cool little T-bucket. Revell made a model of it. After that, he decided to try forming his own bodies out of fiberglass. Using a stock cowl, he built a rounded body on custom body-hugging frame rails. He couldn't afford a dropped axle, so he Z'ed the frame front instead and used a straight axle. He painted the frame and small-block Chevy tan cuz it was cheap, and the body got a dark green., with checkers on the firewall. Despite the blower, the car ran fine on the street. He called it "the Baron." Ed was hoping to recoup his costs by selling the rights to Revell, but the model company balked at this one, thinking it was too far "outside the box" for 1961. Roth parked the car and scavenged the blower set-up for his next project, the Beatnik Bandit. Revell would jump at that one. A few years later, Monogram models, wanting to get into show cars, bought the Baron from Ed and forwarded it to their consultant, Tom Daniels. He revised it, added a 6-cylinder and a huge helmet, and called it the Red Baron. It would be Monogram's all-time best-selling model. I built this model of the Baron . . . . OK, I made that all up. The truth is, I built this out of parts boxes acquired years ago from my first best friend in Pittsburgh. The body/chassis is a Red Baron junker that I remember him building the first time around. The seats are unpainted beige plastic buckets from something or other. The roll bar is a bent aluminum tube inserted into holes molded into the tops of those seats. (Originally for headrests maybe?) An axle with transverse spring was attached. The headlight mount / spring perch is a top bracket to a model-size Christmas tree from the mid-60's AMT annuals. Anyway, I think it's cool, and I had fun building it. In fact, the head-on view makes me laugh out loud.
Not exactly a plastic model but I still spent a relaxing winter day restoring it. Found this mid 40's Arcor Safe Play hard rubber toy car at Detroit Autorama this weekend. I originally thought it was an Auburn Rubber toy but after a major cleaning to get all the dirt and crud off it, I saw the Arcor name under the car. I found other Arcor toys on the internet but could not find any good history on the company name. I do know that in the 50's Auburn Rubber made a couple very similar versions of a 46 Lincoln. perhaps Auburn Rubber bought Arcor or maybe it was one of their vendors in the 1940's After the cleaning, it took some time to get the wheels to move again and I had to repair the broken wheel that fortunately the Lady who sold it to me had saved. Overall this was not in bad shape for a hard rubber toy. I finished it off with some paint repair and will find a nice spot on one of my shelves for this one.

There is a early 50s Danbury mint GMC but the sellers think they are gold,it took me about a year to get a reasonable 37 GMC.

This is a mpc mercury snap together kit that I turned into a slot car. Instead of painting it I wanted to see If the plastic would polish up and it did.
57 Ford gasser is extra special as not many back in sixties. Lots of Chev cloned gassers now, but 57 Ford gassers are still scarce. Nice job. 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
