Keep moving forward, Mike. I'm itching to see that motor progress. Seeing the steps will add to the appreciation of the entire project.
Thanks man! I haven’t landed on a color yet but those are good suggestions. I mixed Testors silver and copper together until I got something I liked, my wife says it’s “Rose Gold” which I agree after I googled it. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Does anyone know if there was ever a resin body created for a '61 Ford Starliner? I assume that AMT has never re-released a version of the Starliner? I know they did a Galaxie re-do, but I need a Starliner for a specific race car project.......Thanks for any suggestions. I really don't want to cut a roof off of one of my 2 '61 Starliner dealer promos!...............Thanks......Don.
Don't even think about whacking the roof off your promo! Now put down the Exacto knife and slowly back away from the work bench. I'm not into the resin scene, I'm afraid I can't help.

That kit ROCKS!!!!!..... I've thinking about painting mine with model master Daytona yellow... Not sure yet...
E-bay sent me a message earlier about a kit that I apparently looked at.. It was a 61 Ford Galaxy Convert ,old amt kit, on the box it looked like it was a stock car or ? , it was assembled but missing the chassis...basically the body and interior. Bid was $9 ,I past on it ...it only had 2 minutes left . I don't think it sold. I did see some other 61 Galaxies on there , I realize the top is different from the Starliner , but if your cutting the top of anyways? There was a 61 starliner promo on there for $200+.... Seems like there was other 61 Starliner converts also. Sent from my SM-T387V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I was just on e-bay again and the 61 convert that I mentioned is back on there ...its a "buy it now" deal for $14 Here's some other ones that I spotted. I managed to make it back off there again with out bidding on anything. Tomarrow I should be receiving a package delivery from my last purchases from a week or so ago... Glad the snow melted in my driveway...it might of delayed it. Sent from my SM-T387V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Just ordered a '61 Starliner resin body from Jimmy Flintstone. Anyone have any experience with his bodies? Quality? True to scale? etc. Thanks............Don.
That sounds like most things in life in general. I was glad to help you find it. If it turns out good you are welcome, If it turns out bad, I don't know what you are talking about. LOL Seriously though, I hope it works out extremely well and can't wait to see some pix.
Starting on a 49 Ford and will build it like in this old picture, its going to have a Y block under the hood.
Great model history, thanks for sharing ! Revell also had contests here is a trophy I won in the early 60’s with my Vette twin engine creation.
^^ That's great. Ingenuity in action. I loved it as a kid when Car Craft & R&C featured builds like this.
Somewhat intimidated by all this talent, but I’ll play along. Originally planned on taking a stab at duplicating Kurt’s wild electric blue Starliner, but chickened out. Did pull the trigger on a transparent blue candy paint job. Looks way better in person. Not sure what color to do the interior [emoji848][emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I, for one, am interested in seeing what you bought. I missed out on a '60 Johan Desoto (built and in black primer) that sold for $22.00, and it looked solid. I didn't get outbid, I put a watch on it and forgot to check my computer.
