I want to say early 90's, John. I thought I had it but haven't come across it yet. Not sure which issue or year. If someone can narrow it down more I may be of help eventually.
has anyone ever seen or heard of a 24th or 25th scale model of a 1927 open car (roadster, tourer etc)? I'm just about to start building the full size version and would also like to buld a scale one. I have had a look around but haven't had much luck finding one. sent via classroom note. pass it on
Both AMT and Revell out out a '27 Ford T Touring car. The Revell offering shares its chassis etc with their Lil' John Buttera '26 T Sedan...Jag rear etc. AMT's '27 For kits are more stock in nature. Both companies kits are normally pretty easy to find on ebay. None are in current production that I know of, but they're all pretty reasonable price-wise. For a roadster you'll need to get a resin body from either Altered States or Jimmy Flinstone. Flinstone bodies are sold by a number of ebay sellers but I usually get mine from "stiffkitty". Search for seller "olmandowntheroad" for Altered States. Both casters make really nice '27 bodies. Whichever kits you start out with or whichever resin bodies you use, pick up an AMT '25 T (ton of different versions reissued lately) to steal parts from. They have gobs off great goodies that you'll need to make up for the '27 kits' shortcomings. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the the help @Olson although I mistyped. Sorry meant to say '27 Chevrolet. sent via classroom note. pass it on
No 1/24 or 1/25 1927 Chevrolet kits (oh, how I wish there were)... And it looks like AMT first sold the 55 Cameo in 1989(?), so I would guess that the sketches were in '89 or early '90.
I really love the bass boat look so i started messing around with different techniques. On this one i laid down a silver base, then dusted with dupont "diamond dust"... then as you can see in the background i had an old body laying around so i did half with a candy grape and half with candy apple to see which looked better. I went with the grape for this model. So i put down 3 coats of candy grape, then did a top dusting with the "diamond dust" For accent i did the seat in white gloss with light diamond dust as well for the glitter vinyl look. With all the chrome on the model it really pops. looking forward to doing some bass boat tangerine in the near future.
Not Sunday yet, but here's my latest. Lindberg 1/8 scale T, converted to a '27, chopped, sectioned, channeled, shortened, scratched built turtle deck, and fenders. As always, it's based on a real rod back in 1961.
We had a fairly good modeling day today (aside from the crap weather), Got up early and went to a swap meet where I couldn't find anything I needed but Charlie picked up these two model kits (both of which were complete and unopened) for a very decent price. Then we spent some of the afternoon building the engine kit. It went together fairly easily aside from having to repair some of the wiring to the electric motor that drives it (which is apparently fairly common in these kits, or so my father-in-law tells me. He works part-time at a parts store and has sold a few of them that have came back with complaints.) A pretty easy fix though, just a few dry soldered joints. after that was finished and we'd been for lunch at the in-laws we put the finishing touches on or '32 3 window project. And made a quick mock-up of what may be our next project. This one was given to me by a mate as a partially built project, I've never been particularly fond of '37 fords or the lowrider "bomb" style so I figured, why not combine the two and try to make something cool?? This one may be put back into the "one day" pile though....
Hi chaps, thought I'd post a few of my builds. Hope you like. 1/16 scale A model with 292 Y block 1/16 scratchbuilt Dragmater running a small block 1/16 scale scratch built Kellison chassis dragster running a 392 1/16 Corvette with a blown small block A 1/16 replica of Ash Marshall's Scorcher 1/16 Mustang with a blown Windsor Regards, Dave
Yeah, like I said, I've never been a fan of the "bomb" style. I may just shelve it and come back to it later in a different style. Just having trouble coming up with ideas for a body style I don't really care for. I do have other kits I could start on though...... we'll see..
Another Sunday morning ........... a few different things from me today ............... '57 Chevrolet
Here's something a little different. This 1939 street scene in a distant suburb of Los Angeles shows a lot of future H.A.M.B.-friendly vehicles. Lined up behind the overheated 1926 Essex (well, OK, skip this one) is a 1937 Chevy, a 1935 Ford, a '30s Buick and a 1936 Ford. In front of the yellow diner is a 1932 Ford coupe. To the right of the diner is a pale yellow 1936 Ford sedan and between the 7-up truck and the chain link fence is a Model A pickup. Toward the lower right is a 1932 Ford roadster gow job. I built the scene, most of the models and shot the photo which received a second place award for model photography at a recent Santa Fe railway society convention. It's HO scale.
Just took pics of all the ones I still have.Building the big 32 now its a older build that is missing some parts. I need headlight bar and bumper brackets.Darrell
can you say wow,out yard salei ng and found this collection.he has just as many that are built and a ton of dicast.
Finished up this '57 Ford the other day and started on a mild custom '51 Fleetline Just needs to finish up the bare metal foil when I get a new sheet, the partial one I have is crap and I don't want to slip with the knife on the body. This is AMT's '51 Fleetline painted Inca Gold basecoat followed by Clear Red. And this is the interior uncompleted so far
