Dennis, I have scans of the blueprints for a Texaco station from 1959 - it's a 3-bay but it shouldn't be hard to modify. Feel free to download them: https://www.flickr.com/photos/62734960@N02/albums/72157686504022760
Got this 5 window for a dollar and I finally got all the thick brushed on paint removed. Also opened up a used truck dealer on the bottom shelf
Sorry for the mid week report..but I just couldn't wait till Sunday. A while back my brother told me about some models a guy had that he was going to get .....nothing happened....he calls this weekend and says the guy with the models wants to come and see you and do some dealing....told him ok, but I just spent $500 at the Vet , my dog is sick, so funds are low...he says the guy likes to deal...oh ya I told him you like old hot rod magazines also so he is bringing some ....ok . Crap....well he had a few cool old kits , most had been assembled but needing repairs...but the magazines....Wow.. A pick up loaded with boxes of magazines... Starting in the mid 50's thru the early 80's Hot Rod, Car Craft, Rod & Custom and alot that I have never heard of..special issue's and yes Model magazines vintage and newer...all the ones from 50's /60's are almost mint condition and in plastic sleaves...I got them all...models and magazines...no cash involved. He picked thru my stuff had a small box of things , trinkets and said that would cover it....great...happy days....well not yet , my dog is still not doing well. I posted a few shots , not great , would love to show you all the magazines ...wrong thread...any that have model stuff in them I will if you guys want to see any. I will post better shots showing the models later when Im not dealing with a sick dog.
Yep! That's a Monogram 1/8 scale Vette.... I have one molded in blue also.... And red one, and black one....
Let's see here...I'll have one ZZZZZZZZ-28, one 1925 Model T Ford, one Screamin' Vette and, oh yeah, one Penske combo kit. That'll do it for now, thanks.
Sorry for the delay...battery went dead. Couple more shots... In the one ,it's hard to see, is a complete 28/29 model A kit minus box and tires A 57 Chev Ht. Kit minus box A 90's Chevrolet pu. Kit Also pictured is a very nicely done 57 Chevrolet 2dr. sedan chop top, and a few of the model builder magazines... A few of the old "little pages" accidentally got in the picture.
You got some great kits in that score and some cool reading material too. One of the magazines has the Pacers fuel altered that @Mike-model is working on.
You caught me......I slipped that in there to see if Mike would catch that. Actually there's two magazines the same there ,one showing the cover side up and the other is back cover up....the Pacer car. There are alot of magazines covering drag racing and I have been finding pictures of the car in action. I will send what I find to Mike ...PM of course as not to go against the thread rules.
Back to models...I started checking out my new stuff. First the Penske team kit.... Seems to be complete, but there's some damage to the van body and a couple of broken windows for the car and it's instruction sheet is gone ...but it does have very nice decal sheets ...trailer bag has never been ened it appears undamaged. Check it out quick...is it worth fixing?
I confidently say that darn near anything Penske related is worth saving and doing right, especially if it is Mark Donohue or AMC related. Oldsters and sports car folks will remember Roger Penske for his time behind the wheel and his time spent at Nassau Speed Weeks. While there are those that disliked Donohue and Penske for their winning ways, I believe many more appreciate Marks driving and engineering capabilities. I was fortunate enough to see Donohue drive Trans-Am, Can-Am and the Indy 500, all in Penske red, white and blue colors.
Yes the days of real race cars and true drivers...you know I have a collection of photos from the I believe the 1968 race in Portland Oregons Delta Park road course...trans-am , can-am , formula 5000 and scca sedans ..8"x10"BW photos supposedly never published, been in a closet for 50+ years....I will look and see if there's any shots of him...ifhe was there. Any ways how would you like to be the one to save that kit.?..if I keep it I would just use the wheels from the car and the trailer for something....I believe you would do it up right. As for the rest of that order you mentioned...I believe I'm going to sit on them for a bit. ...sorry. So really you PM me a destination address and I will get the Penske kit headed your way. For real...no tricks....no scams...just passing it on. Thanks Terry (aka Rudestude) .
Larry I want to thank you for the 59 Buick instruction sheet you sent me....that was really cool...I like them AMT customizing tricks instructions. I actually have a fairly large collection of instruction sheets, didn't have that one, so it was really appreciated, I was happy to help you out with them headlight bezels ,hope they worked out for you. Thanks again. Terry (aka Rudestude)
Checked out more of the new additions to my collection...here's what I found . Some cool finds, original trading cards included in a couple of kits, Some broken and missing parts...etc.
^^ You've got more work there than I imagined. For your sake I hope the '25 T is all there. It's just a neat kit. I'm not big on cartoonish cars but I bet the Z-28, the Screamin' 'Vette and the Boss Mustang would be kool after sanding off the mold lines, filling in body attachment lines and simulating the colors in the box art. Have fun!
@rudestude , I was happy to send the Buick instructions to you, I figured they would be a good compliment to your ‘59 Buick. Thanks again for the ‘40 headlamps, I’ll work on that project when Winter gets here.
I'm about to give up on posting pictures... Never know how they are going to end up....small, out of order, not at all... Hold on...I will try it some more.. Thought it was cool that them two kits had there trading cards still.
Don't worry ...I can't stop anyways.... the H.A.M.B and my contacts and conversations with you guys is what keeps me going.....my connection to the outside world let's say... Thank you Terry Note: it's closer to Petticoat Juction... quick will understand.
