Working on a AMT 60 Ranchero and trying to get the under hood area looking like a Falcon should be and putting in a six.
Got this one in the mail today, its the original version of the Monogram 40 Ford p/u from around 1964. I got it for the rims and hub caps to use on a same era Monogram 34 coupe unbuilt kit to build a late 40s style hotrod using all early 60s parts and now to find a hopped up flathead fron the same era. I will do something with the 40 eventually.
I love the Wes Collins Roadster Royalshifter is building. This is a 34 cabriolet not a roadster, but it will be heavily inspired by the Collins car. I’ve already made the skirts, mildly chopped the top, installed 36 headlights, and rounded up 41 Lincoln bumpers. I also have Caddy sombreros for it. Stay tuned!
Decided not to rob parts off the 40 truck and put a regular bed on it I had in stock but now to try to match the paint. Making progress on tht V12 34 coupe.
I used Bare Metal Foil. I also used the small pointed cotton applicators to burnish it down, then use a new X-Acto blade. I've seen guys use scalpels, but have yet to try them.
Nice work on the car Bob. I'm curious about the decals. In a catalog I see ........ Clear decal paper on white backing inkjet White decal paper on white backing inkjet Clear decal paper on blue backing laser What did you use? Something different? Thanks, John
This was clear paper on white backing. I got it through BMF, and the brand is "Expert's Choice". Second set out of that sheet and it has worked out really well for me.
I picked up a whole bunch of them at a flea market, and I decided to build them even though some were missing parts, that's why the Vette has bigger wheels and tires on it.
