It looks like it's been sitting a while, but I'll bet you can bring it back. I hope you get it. There's almost enough metal on the radiator guard to build another car!

You'd spend thousands of $ and hundreds of hours labor just to get "to drive the wheels off that"...and all you'd ends up with is a sad, gutted, clapped out version of a ruined '40 Ford coupe.

Yes, but you would get a pair of GM spiral shocks with the deal...or at least one of them

  11. Nope.
Doesn’t need paint, no body work and all the body parts it needs is right there.
just make what’s there stop and go

What do you think should be done with it? Crush it so it no longer exists?
I'm pretty sure Anthony has a good idea of what it'd cost to make something fun out of it... and I hope he gets it back on the track.

  13. He didn’t price it. It’s one of those of its cheap I’ll consider it
Going back tomorrow to talk about 29/9 RPU parts

This thread shows a definite "generation gap" in our ranks. Some of us older guys remember seeing cars like this racing at local dirt tracks when we were kids. The drivers were our heros and the cars icons. The younger guys see desirable cars cut up and *******ized for no good reason and wonder why?

  20. I wasn’t around to see these cars swapping paint with each other, however there’s beauty in that rough cut, square roll cage, crude track pounder.
built out of necessity, with torches, tin snips and stick welders.
Car has to be early with its banjo rear and enclosed DS. Still set up for a flatty
Guy has enough junk laying around to get this one back on a track.

Reversed regular wheel on the outside front

The wagon next to it is also intriguing.

  23. That baby must have been a handful! It looks like the rear wheels have been moved ahead.

It would make a good display. parade lap car!

  27. I am wondering if there was a rule limiting engine set back.

Generally, speaking most sanctioning bodies and tracks limited engine set back to 10% some flat-out banned it!

Bill Smith and the Speedway Motors crew read the No engine set back but saw nothing about moving the wheel base.

The engine is in the stock location they moved the front axle ahead!

    Several racing sayings-

    Working in the gray area

If the rulebook doesn't say you can't then you can.

Here's what the rulebook says, what doesn't it say?
