Sorry about that. I guess it gets the point across. Sorry about the reposting, just a knee jerk reaction I guess. Sorta like the government drafting "we're gonna sleep with your wife and or girlfriend legislation."

Lady Bird Johnson got thousands of junk yards in this country with valuable cars to us crushed and turned into Toyota's. Nancy Pelosi is a threat to us all who build hot rods and custom cars. They go way too far with proposals like this.Next thing they will propose will be you can't register a old car.Get those old clunkers off the road. YIKES!

Hmmm...if their true intent is to get inefficient cars off the road, and spur new car sales, they'd be better off writing the bill to focus on cars built in the last 20 years and have been recently registered, etc. Basically exclude classic cars.

It's doubtful most politicians would actually understand the issue.

I sent mine. THIS is how our country's government SHOULD work...grassroots feedback to guide our legislators. Let's hope they listen...

Sorry about dropping the "D - bomb." :D I figured this one was so mild that it wasn't even considered profanity these days.

OK, lets get some common sense going:

    1st No legislation has passed

2nd If passed, any vehicle would be turned in VOLUNTARILY for a cash refund
(so, don't worry about your cold dead cliches)

3rd Nobody in their right mind is going to trade in a '57 Chevy or a "40 Coupe, etc....the good stuff has more value to hobbiests than what a rebate would yield

4th 95% of all the cars turned in would be Japanese stuff, or crap like Chrysler FWD K-cars, minivans, Granadas, Crapmobiles, etc.etc.

  24. This is a good point , BUT , with politicians things start out in an innocuous manner so as not to arouse protest . Then another small step , then another until ..... well , you've guessed it already , old cars are only in museums

  25. All these bills are vehicles for that pork that will be tacked on by Pelosi and the like. The bill is irrelevant to them, it is the pork they want.

  26. I sent mine, I only hope everyone else understands the importance of this. If something like this were to pass, we will all have to pay "Barrett Jackson" prices for every old car left. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but i damn sure can't afford that!!!

This site is LOCKED OUT (which is unfortunate by the way) on both their computers but they hang out with me while looking sometimes. Usually just looking at pics and stuff. The no foul language in the title rule is a good one cause they will see every title while looking for a thread to view the pictures in. Sorry for the rant that is OT to the post. I'll be the firest one to tell you I've dropped a bomb or two in posting in the threads but the title rule makes since to me. Thanks and sorry.

Keep in mind that taking a car to scrap is voluntary....and doesn't pay much.....but we still lose lots of good parts cars AND some buildable cars to it every day. This bill could pose a similar threat if not worded right.
