Super Red Ram engine

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jimalberta, Nov 2, 2008.

  1. Hi, do any of you guys (and/or gals ) remember the Super Red Ram engine that came in the mid 50's dodges. I have one in my shop still connected to the push button automatic transmission with all the cables and the button box. I always thought of putting it in a rod of some kind one day.

You need to be a bit more specific. Sounds like a high deck Hemi, if so great engine. Some times terms gets applyied to the early Poly or the "A" Poly, what is it?

The Super Red Ram was a 270 CI..Red Ram, 241 and the high decks are 315 and 325..The 241 and the 270 will fit in most cars..They are the two smallest Hemi blocks..The high deck are a little wider.Desoto is bigger and Chrysler is the bigggest on the 50s Hemi..
