Can you take a blower off of an alcohol setup and run it on gas engine? Does it depend on the blower?

That's a huge open ended question.
    Need input...need details...!

    1. What size blower
    2. What size engine (cu. in. ?)
    3. How old/how many runs
    4. What was it originally built for, (street, drag racing, etc.)

DO NOT use the pulley (overall ratio) for alchhol on a gas engine..!

The general answer is blowers don't know what fuel is passing through.

I am told that Gasoline is hard on Teflon linings. Check to see if the rotors have been lined.

  5. The main thing to remember here is if its a wet blower to start with. If it is a unit for a blow through as opposed to a draw through it will not work wet. IE carbs or injectors on the inlet side of the blower as opposed to the throttle body and fuel charge on the outlet side of the blower.

Alcohol motors run cooler, so the blowers are set up tighter. To switch to gas, it needs to be clearenced looser for heat expansion, unless it was very loose as it ran on alky. Any good blower shop can change clearances. They take the dowel pins out & move the rotors/end plates UP in relation to the case, rebore to larger dowel pins.
