Maybe not customs but the first one is a ’49 Silverstreak with Supremes and the bottom one is my ’41 Special. Ok the ’41 got Cragars but you got a feeling for the looks with wide walls.
If it were me, I go for ww.

^ Those aren't supremes. Those are like 18" Torq Thrusts.

All the cars pictured would look 1000% better with skinny whitewalls.

GM started putting skinny whites on their "show cars" in '53.
They put ONLY skinny Whites on their new production cars in '62.
By the time Supremes came on the market you couldn't buy a set of WWW's without going to the specialty companies that special made them for "Restorers"
Supremes were the "Bling" wheel of 1965, You would have put the latest tire on it too.
That would be a skinny whitewall, preferably a U.S. ROYAL MASTER but Corky hasn't repoped them yet.
    Get on the ball Corky!

WWW's look perfect on Chrome wire wheels, either, Imperial, Buick, or Tbird style, and they look good with flipper hubcaps, like '57 Lancers, and Olds, and they look good on Halibrands and "D" 5 spoke American mags and Chrome reversed wheels with the deep cone shaped Buick rim.

They look just wrong on the custom wheels of the 60's.

My Arrogant Opinion and I'm stickin to it.

I agree with just about everything DrJ just said.

    Go to the LosBoulevardos gallery.http://www.losboulevardos.com/gallery.html
There are lots of supremes in there. Most have skinny whites. You can see the difference for yourself.

I think Lancers look the best with wide whites. Wires look nice too.

Ever thought about running medium whites? Usually 1 3/4" or 2". Those were popular and they look good on supremes.

Supremes look good with buffed out white walls. I think what makes the difference is that there has to be some blackwall between the rim and the whitewall. I had inch and a half whitewalls and it still looked good. any thing more than 2 inches and it just dont look right.

You could use some adapters 6 to 5 lug, might not break the bank

i agree. as a purveyor of the 60's style, wide whites on 5 spoke mags is as wrong to me as short fat radial tires on a traditional hot rod.

ya as long as you can afford to space them out at least an inch, you could use adaptors. there should be room on your fleetside

I'm not old enough to like the WWW on '60s cars :D so I went with a dual stripe on mine.
