i bet this car has been in the salvage yard a few years! it's at southside salvge in wellington texas. they have been open close to 50 years! i would hate to try and get this one out.
cool pic Flat-top, I saw a car in a junkyard that had a tree growing up through the engine compartment, but the tree had grown around some suspension parts and was lifting the front of the car about 7ft. off the ground...wonder how far it will go.
That would be an easy dig. You could get the rest of the R.R. gang and pull a Tom Sawyer on them and stand back and watch them dig. Here is a car I was told about with intentions of digging up till I got there.
That is a cool picture and what an awesome blue sky. I'll probley get the chance to see sky like that again in April or May around here
that car had to be put around the tree!! That tree is alot older then 54 yrs old,( if is a 52 Nash) more like 150 !! The only thing i hate more then seeing cars rot away like that is wen you ask the ownwer if they want to sell? & they say"Nah, I'm going to fix it up someday"!! JimV
I think I know someone who's garage resembles that...only on a WAY WAYYYYY bigger scale............. HEY REV????
HOLY SHIT JOSH!!!! that would be worth buying just for a conversation piece. look at the motor!!!!! Mike
we got a yard out here in ohio with a couple of old trucks with trees up through em,kinda neat to look at how the trees grew around stuff.curly's got a couple pictures of em,maybe he'll post em if he sees this.the dude that ownes the yard calls the tree "the iron eater"
Those pics define the phrase, "Long term storage." Went to look at a Panhead choppper a guy had for sale. An old rusty 51 hardtail with a peanut tank, pounds of bondo molding, and an eighteen over wide glide sporting a triumph front wheel. Said He hadn't ridden it for a couple years. Having no garage He chained it to a tree and quit mowing the grass back there. We like to never found it in the 6 foot weeds. But finally there it was, the tip of a sissy bar sticking up. The tree it was chained to had grown around the chain. Couple years my ass!
I'll bet we could fire this puppy up and drag all the carcasses free! Weren't these called doodlebugs? Dan
