I talked to the 2 guys who bought Greg Lanes surfer scoop business back in early October and even made a substantial deposit , $250. of the $700 total price, on the new and improved version with CNC molds and such. The contact, Michael Johnson of TN. told me they would be 3-4 months before they would be ready, okay, cool. And then, a few days ago I am working on the Hot Rod and I got to thinking about it, and I have E-mailed, called and tried contact on FB to no avail. I can accept they just had problems bigger than the could overcome but a polite message of either outcome would be nice?!....And during our conversation, Michael indicated the they were trying to buy Nick Arias defunct Scoop business and reproduce those as well....Now I find out that at SEMA that the folks at Offenhauser bought Nick Arias out and they will have his "Python" scoop available by May, or June, cast or Polished. I just thought I would post up a little information for those interested in a "Surfer" style scoop. Mine is ordered as a Polished unit and hopefully I get this one as my new combination engine is close. A Dart 540 with a 14-71 with dual Ron Williams DBW TBI's . I thought I would post this to see if any information of "*****in Scoops" brand is out there, slow and lacking in communication? or, defunct? Has anyone else had issue with this company? The first 2 pics are the *****in Scoop, my favorite, and the next 3 are the Offy Python scoop, I think the polished version looks great, and the Aussie scoop! The guys in Australia, Aussie Speed, have a cool surfer scoop as well.
I'm glad you posted this, I have been thinking about ordering one myself. I guess I'll wait and watch this post to see how your experience pans out... I hope the python scoop see production and doesn't get shelved.... ...
