Autometer gauges are one of the few things that have never changed since the 50s.. They are American made and perform excellently..

If using the mechanical oil pressure gauge inside the car, I sleeve the stainless hose with clear plastic hose in case of a leak. I put a hose clamp at the gauge and leave the other end that goes to the engine open..
If you ever had one of those plastic hoses spring a leak while on a busy highway were you can't shut the engine off you'll know why I do this.. What a mess!!

I run the nostalgic looking Bosch gauges. No issues and look period correct.

Correct if it was an AU build but this is an imported Tudor model with the later (my preference) dash.

Moon is my top and old SW is a close second. Wouldn’t mess with any new gauges besides auto meter.

I wanted to use SW Wings in my roadster . After reading all the bad feedback , I opted for Autometer Old Tyme Black. I did have an issue with the electric speedo , but they made it good. Bill

  6. I run SW cockpit gauges. (they resemble what you posted) contrary to popular belief here in the US you can get them that are still made in USA.

I have nothing against Autometer gauges, they make a good quality gauge or at least last I checked they did.

You can get SW made in the US if you buy vintage gauges, haven’t found any info on SW moving manufacturing back to the US. Cockpit series is a name used by VDO which makes gauges in the Czech Republic

I saw these at the SR Nats a few years ago...........Its what I want for my truck........but I'm not sure about spending that much money for new ones if they have a bad reputaion now.
