One of the first ones in our area Saturday (30 April). Kinda chilly and breezy but overall not too bad - at least no rain.

Lots of vendors and a pretty good turnout. I picked up a couple of EAB heads - something I didn't know I needed till I saw 'em (for garage wall art) and a good used service manual for the '47.

One guy brought this nice lookin' '50 shoebox:

Going back to the pickup, I noticed John Law was even there, along with a paddy wagon, thought you all might like to see ....

Ron , that is a beautiful Shoebox Ford ! The Cop car really looks good too .

Our first HUGE swap meet was this week in Carsile Pa . In June 3 to 5 the is the biggest Ford show and huge swap meet in Carsile Pa too ! I never miss that show and will be set up selling in the swap meet area in the first row against the fence in spaces 61 & 62 so if you come to this great Ford show , make sure you stop by and introduce yourself ! You can also get out of the heat and sit and drink a cold one with me under the tent You can usually find the Ford part you are looking for there . If not Hershey in early October will be the only other place to find what you need . That show is the shows of shows and the BIGGEST one you will ever see ! I guarantee you that is the largest swap meet and show in the country !

So I hope to see many of you at the Ford show in June 3-4-5 ! It's only $10 a day or all three gays is cheaper . If you do come down make sure you go in Gate 3 on Thursday the day before the show opens and come in and get some great deals ! That was my best day for sales and Friday the 2nd best for sales !

Retro Jim, Ill be there at Carlisle in June. Its a long haul but worth it. Brought home alot of good stuff 2 years ago. My buddy from NC has a car sale spot up near the pavilion and brings something up there every year. I'll come by and introduce myself but if the 3 gays are there, I wont be for long!

Thanks for the invite Jim. Much as I'd love to go it's unlikely unless I'm out at Glen Rock for work and can take a couple extra days. I'm a bit travel-weary from work trips & am sticking close to home this summer - well that and gas prices ($4.15 a gal this a.m.)! The only casual travel we plan on this summer is Vancouver in August to see the kids. Already lining up some swaps & shows out there with a couple of FB members.

Hope Carlisle is a good one for you. Maybe after I retire (hoping 2 years or less) I'll be able to make some of the bigger shows. I've got a bunch of stuff to pedal and a trailer to haul it. Looking forward to a second career, post-retirement... Retirement? What's that, eh?

I just spent the last four days at the Pate Swap Meet here in Texas. It's huge at the Texas Motor Speedway, but VERY slow this year. Lots of venders but very few buyers in attendance. Might have been the result of heavy weather here in the South, but more likely the result of a very slow economy, high unemployment and rampant inflation that eats away at our hobby money. I had a good time, but sold very little and brought home almost everything I went with.

tnrotter , OK what are the 3 gays ???
While you are there if you have the extra money the NSRA East Nats will be about an hour south from the Carsile show ! I can tell you how to get there and you won't get lost . That's the only problem I have about the Ford show because the street rod show is the same weekend and I think next year I might set up for 2 days and leave Friday night so I can go to the York show on Saturday and bring my 55 Ford into the show ! I know I will loose money but before I started selling at Carsile I always went to the Ford show on Friday and the street rod show all day Saturday ! The I go to the US30 Reunion in York too in July I think . That's a great show as well as meeting many old timers from the greatest days of drag racing !

Anyway you damn well better stop by and introduce yourself . i will have cold drinks with me from water , Gatorade to beer ! If you have some parts to sell bring them along and I will try to sell some for you ! I will have plenty of room there !

See you all soon I hope !

Jim, Trying to be funny! Look back at your first post, you had a little typo there. LOL. Ill definitely stop by. I need to start walking alot now to be in shape for the hill where we park by the armory and go ahead and pack the sunscreen. Dont know that I will bring any parts north but plan on taking a load back south. I always can find a deal at a swap meet, but almost nothing on my list!
