The rearend in My '51 Ford pu imploded while on a road trip the other day. Right now it's about 150 miles away from home sitting in a casino parking lot.
I was wondering if anyone had some advice as to what rearends might fit.
I got about a 300hp sbc/th350 in it, so maybe something a little tougher than stock.
    Thanks,
    Cory

A ford 9" from a 67-72 f-100 is a bolt in swap, the pinion angle is off a little but the perches line up....

You will have to use the spring plates and u-bolts off the f-100 since the 9" housing is 3" in diameter and and stocker is 2.5" or you an do what I did and use the spring plates off an F-2 (the stock f-2 axle is 3" in dameter).

If you find a 9.125" (looks a lot like a 9") out of a 67-72 f-100 4X4 they are 31 spline and are usually limited slip. This is the axle that I used and the stock f-1 brakes even bolted up to the axle.

What he said. I have a 9 inch out of a '58 F-100 in my '48 F-1. I bought some spring plates and u-bolts at a swap meet and used them. I put in some 4 degree pinion angle shims to get the pinion angle closer to where it should be (Just by eyeballing), but I think I would like some 6 degree shims just because. :D It has been fine so far (about 6 months of use). Good luck

I would try to find a 66 or later F-100 rear because they came with self adjusting brakes.
