any swap, big or small, is worth going to. #1 you get to see and touch the stuff rather than just viewing online. #2 you never know what will show up that you need/want. sometimes go home empty handed. sometimes go home with the perfect part at the perfect price.
If you're thinking of the Nashville swap meet held at the fairgrounds, mostly inside....you may be a little late. Quote from their ad: Feb 2, 2013 vendor setup day: 12 Noon til 6PM Open to the public at 6:30am on Feb. 3, 2013 I went about 5 years ago. It is fair sized and at that time I found some parts for my 47 Plymouth.
This one? Third Annual Winter Swap Meet Third Annual Winter Swap Meet in Lebanon, TN. Join us for a great winter time automotive event. Sponsor: Mid-Tenn AACA When: 2013-02-17, 6A.M. Location: James Ward Agricultural Center Lebanon, TN Cost: $5.00
If you don't know the difference between Nashville and Lebanon, I'd suggest you either don't go or get a GPS. Also.... ten hour drive to a swapmeet? ....
I haven't been to this one but have been to the last one in Nashville. The one in Nashville was worth a 150 mile drive....but 500 miles? Not to me. I have never driven over 350 to one and it had to be huge.
Fenders, Things are a little different down here I grew up in Philly- in an hour, I could be in the country, down the shore, in New York, etc. EVERYTHING down here is at least 30-45 away, and folks are used to driving 4+ hours each way to get where they want to go- like a good swap (our crew just went to Moultrie last weekend, and spent 9 hours in the car).
500 miles? If your looking for typical small block chevy stuff you can get that anywhere. There are a few local guys that have model A parts and a few flathead parts and a few race parts. I go every year, but I'm near by. 500 miles not me. besides the weather forecast is widely ****dered COLD...
IMHO, it was a bust, at least for what I was looking for. Quite a bit smaller than previous years. The result of two AACA groups ****in' heads. You would think this one would move it to another time of the year, and not so close to the fairground meet. Glad that I didn't drive the 260 miles just for it.
