Does anybody have a pic of a Pete and Jakes sway bar on a 1940 ford? Does it use pre existing holes or do you need to locate it and drill new holes? It mounts to the bottom of the perch pins? Any help appreciated.
My Forty coupe has a nice front sway bar that appears to use the original holes. I have no idea the manufacturer.
I just installed one of these a while back and my memory is already fuzzy. It was on a 39 and I believe I had to drill one of the two holes on each side. The bottom of the links bolts to a “dog bone” bracket that goes on the bottom of the perch bolt and the perch nut holds it all together. A sway bar on these cars is one of the best upgrades you can do.
are your dogbone plates on an angle? I purchased the sway bare for a stock axle, perch centerline is 38 1/2 inches and it appears the dogbone brackets need to be on an angle to line up. Any pics?
This is the only pic I have. Yes, the dog bones were angled towards the center of the car so the links could fit between the spring and axle.
Awesome. Thanks for those pics. Yes I see now how the bottom brackets need to be on an angle to clear
