Hi, looked ast this car the first time in 2013 at that I had just started my Willys project. A guy I worked with at that time showed it to, me his father owned it.They wanted to know what I thought it was worth. In 2015 I met him again and asked what happened to the car,and they still had it and it was for sale so I bought it:) Fordor 34 2 (2).JPG Fordor 34 2 (1).JPG SAM_3378.JPG SAM_3382.JPG SAM_3392.JPG

    In 2017 I finally started to dis***emble the car and found rust, 20170617_115036.jpg SAM_3730 (1).JPG SAM_3733 (1).JPG SAM_3739 (1).JPG SAM_3765.JPG a lot.

My first idea was to remove the body from the ch***is but I soon realised it would fall apart.
I straightened the door hinges and reinstalled the doors the beltline was terrible, I had to lift the rear of the body with a jack and weld supporting bars everywhere inside the body. Then I started to replace floor , subrails and lower part of rear wheelwells. 20170924_192813.jpg 20171008_064741.jpg SAM_3910 (1).JPG 20171101_200310.jpg SAM_3925 (1).JPG

When I did know how much rust it was on the car I ordered cowl patch panels, rockers, door bottoms and a gas tank cover from Howell sheetmetal, it took awhile but the shipped it and I think the quality is OK SAM_3926 (1).JPG SAM_3931.JPG SAM_3932 (1).JPG SAM_3934 (1).JPG SAM_3937 (1).JPG

Floors look great! I don’t envy all the rust repair. I am bogged down doing some of the same.

Tomastudor, looking good. I had a 57 Chev. once that I had to replace the same stuff, it's a lot of work.

Ha, a car with ***le is always worth money here in Sweden, I guessed about 4 to 8 tousands USD.
His father thought it was worth much more and I was not going to buy it att that time.2 years later I got a better price not a steal but I could afford it.

Looks great. I’m doing the same on a 32 Tudor right now. Replacing all the rust is a lot of work. But it’s extremely rewarding owing from rusted nasty metal to a repaired panel.

    Continuing with the rust repair the rockers are almost done and starting with the doors. SAM_3958 (1).JPG SAM_3962 (1).JPG SAM_3963 (1).JPG SAM_3965 (1).JPG SAM_3967 (1).JPG SAM_3968 (1).JPG

  17. Sometimes I think I'm fairly handy with making patch parts, but commercial patch panels can be a real blessing; especially when you are replacing the bottom 6 inches of thin air. This '34 looks better everyday. Again, good work!

Most of the rust repair is done I am sure more will show after media blasting. The drivers door had opened up at speed, it needed both rust repair and work around the hinges. SAM_3971 (1).JPG SAM_3972 (1).JPG SAM_3978 (1).JPG SAM_3980.JPG SAM_3982.JPG SAM_3986.JPG

While the lower part of the body was in really bad shape the upper was good a little surface rust an very few dents. But that does not mean no work, it was badly designed just to high for my taste so I decided to chop it. Here is how I did it I found an old tread here on Hamb where a guy did it this way.
First I removed the rear lower corners on the side windows and then I chopped the pillars and rear corners 2". SAM_4000.JPG SAM_4001.JPG SAM_4003.JPG SAM_4007.JPG SAM_4010.JPG SAM_4012.JPG SAM_4014.JPG SAM_4018.JPG

Took a look at the grille I did not think it could look good after chroming but I have sent it to a chromeshop lets see what they can do. Tried a friends seat its from a 90s Chrysler Voyager a Dodge Caravan in USA, look good I will get one. Have also checked the ridehight, looks real different when it sits right. Tom I'm confused, is the time date on your camera wrong or is the car finished now and you're posting old pictures? In any case you must be young because I look at those pictures and think about all the projects that I did and now I sit on my porch with a Martini. Keep up the good work.

You have done some amazing work. I really like the chop, give the Fordor a little sleeker appearance.

They are old pics the project was slowing down, maybe I am old or covid 19 I dont know so I started this tread just to remind me how much I have done and get me going again. And maybe someone would like it . And its not finished.

Finally I lifted the body from the ch***is, the rearend is a 59 Ford Galaxie and 36 radius rods for rear suspension. Have also done some welding on the underside of the body.
    I have filled top with a roof from a Volvo 245 installed backwards. SAM_4385.JPG SAM_4392.JPG SAM_4395.JPG SAM_4399.JPG SAM_4401.JPG

Got the body and ch***is mediablasted found more rust on rear wheelwells and around the cowl vent, but I wont do anything to that for now I will focus on the frame. Starting to modify for a Sbc and 700 r4 transmission. SAM_4407.JPG SAM_4412.JPG SAM_4413.JPG SAM_4419.JPG SAM_4420.JPG SAM_4429.JPG SAM_4433.JPG SAM_4436.JPG
