Now I have made the bumper brackets and installed the bumper. Yes its a 41 Willys bumper but thats what I could find to buy.
Benn working under the dash for a while, I have made brackets for fuse box, air conditioning and relays. Have also made tabs for tying electric wiring. Its really tight fit to mount an aircondition evaporator behind a Willys dash.
Have made glove boxes combined with defroster vents for my Willys, the driver side will hold the AC control panel and radio-USB player.
There is so much things behind the dash of my Willys I discovered there no room for the vent handle. But I wanted to keep the vent therefore I have mounted an electric motor to drive the vent. The motor is from a a AC vent door that recykles the air from a 90,s SAAB 9000.
My Willys project is steering back to safer highway with the help of a 70,s Chevy van steering column. The chinese junk will soon be run over by a fork lift or similar vehicle. Thanks Weasel and all others for your concern.
I have not been doing so much because of the very warm wheather, but I have managed to do the front bumper brackets.
I have installed the Chevy steering column in my Willys and the Borgeson u-joints and the intermidiate shaft.' Only need to do some trimming on the motor mount for some clearence.
I just read through this whole build. I like your work. You're going to have a very bitchin car cruising around Sweden!
Rolled out my Willys to take some pics, I have sanded the whole body and bought tires 255/70 15 and 165/80 15. And mounted them on my American rebel wheels. I am pretty satisfied with the door gaps and how the fenders, hood and trunk fit.
I have not been satisfied with the shape of the lower rear part of the left front fender so I made a new piece. I have also put the Willys wheels on my Ford just to see how it looks, the rear wheels are a little to small for a fenderless 32 I think.
Nice work so far I saw your 32 in umeå and haparanda this summer, but you were not in the car so I couldnt say hello
I wanted to chime in here and let you know I think this build is turning out very cool. It's refreshing to see a willys built this style. I have a 41 truck that will follow this same style wheels and stance. Keep up the great work Jason Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have made an extension to the dash where the airconditioning vents will be installed. It will also make the evaporator less visible.
I have put primer, sealed and painted topcoat on the inside of my Willys, it looks much better when its the same color on the inside.
Just got home from my North East USA vacation that included New England Hot Rod Reunion. Had a great time, met some fellow hambers and saw some nice Willy coupes.
It was very nice meeting you at the New England Hot Rod Reunion. Hope you enjoyed yourself. We always do.
I have removed the body from the chassis and put primer, sealant, paint and body coating under my Willys body.
This weekend I have rebuilt the third member on my Willys, I have installed a Summit Racing trac-loc differential and a set of 3.25 gears
