I’ve been busting but on customer cars and this weekend decided to tinker on my own stuff for a bit so I drug the Y block out of the corner and stated to put together a list of everything I need to make it run. I also saw something I wanted to try on my manifolds with graphite but I also decided to take it one step further and smooth them while I was at it.
A got some time on the engine lately and got the other manifold finished along with hours of sanding and polishing bringing these valve covers back to life. I also got a package from Nystrom Performance with my fuel fittings to get the carbs linked together.
I see where you have a 8'' chop How tall are you? Im 6'4'' so Im thinking 5'' on mine without a seat lowering. TIA
Im 5'11" and I have a caravan seat. The seat frame sits about 4" off the floor. I have plenty of room to be comfortable. I'm not sure what the distance is from the floor to the top of the seat and I will say I'm slouched back a good bit the way I have it set up.
Sweety is still in hibernation for the winter but I have been building up my stock pile of parts and getting some other projects finished for her. First up I got a set of 9” headlights rebuilt and retrofitted so it has h4 bulbs and 1157 marker/turn signals. I also got my clutch and throw out bearing installed so the trans is now married to my engine and I’m super stoked about this today my walker radiator showed up that I scored out of the cl***ifieds on here. Can’t wait for her to come home so I can get to work!
SweeTy is officially back in the shop and getting worked on again. So far I’ve just been getting parts I’ve been collecting set in place. I need to actually sit back and stare at her for a minute and get a game plan together and priority list. Right now theirs just so much to do that I’m having troubles processing it so at the moment I have have the mind set of “do SOMETHING” anything done is progress made
Make a list, prioritize and categorize, hang it up on a clip board, read step 1, and start. This is how I stayed on target and always progressing, especially because I traveled the USA for work all the time then.
My brain is starting to comprehend what needs to be done in what order so I feel like I’m making good progress in the right direction and I got a job done I’ve been putting off for to long which is finally getting the body actually mounted to the ch***is. Now I started to lay out how I wanted to make the rear look.
Sweetys body is off to the wood shop. A close friend of mine is making the roof structure for me. It’s weird to see her sitting in the middle of a wood shop. Now this week I’m going to get to work on finalizing the ch***is.
Not a ton to update on I’ve just been working on my frame getting things final welded and dolling it up a bit. I’ve also been working on getting some of the front end components ready to prime. No update on my roof yet but don’t feel the need to pester him because I’m not ready for the body to come back anyways. Just chugging along
