Sets of these have popped up on eBay a couple of times. I lust after 'em, but they always go for way more than I'm willing to bid. Vern from the choppers has a pair on his coupe.
I have seen the ebay ones. It looks like they still need a ton of work to get them together. They appear to be just rough castings and no marker light lens. I wish I had a matching set. I would love another chrome one, I have been looking for a while now.
It's an MG P-type special from around 1936...that set is specific to track cars...Brooklands cars, Q-types, R-types, some J2s, etc. Way over on the left you can see an original gauge from a stock PB. Pre-war Jaeger gauges are pretty cool. I believe we got these from a place called Vintage Restorations in Kent, GB...I could be wrong though. This is from the post I did the other day about the Barn Finds exhibit...the panel on the Edsel Ford car... I will see if I can lighten the hi-res and repost. Speedo and Tach were sold out of Bell Auto Parts in the 50's. Maring and Company in Los Angeles made these for the lake racers....Lucky
