Ok boys and girls... here's a short update on what's happening with the Symco Shakedown. First off... the mini-bike drags are a go! We're going to use Breeder's rules that he uses at the Rust Revival just to keep things uniform. There's no truth to the rumor they will be an unlimited nitro fuel class! Secondly... All campsites will have electricity at no extra charge. It would simply be too hard to police who uses electric and who doesn't so everybody will have it. Cliffy is working on campsite layouts right now... expect to be able to register for, and confirm, your campsite in a week or so. Remember... we have about 50 sites along, and close to, the Little Wolf River.... beautiful tree lined sites with access to running water (the river) or actual water from a faucet... your choice. We also have a second campground across the street from the show next to the spectator parking area. These camp sites will be a little farther from the action so if you want more peace and quiet let us know and we'll put you over there. Each site is a little different in size so if you have a large motorhome OR you want to camp alongside of your friends you will have to let us know... Third... Swimming. canoeing, tubing, wading and other water related activities are OK with us. The Little Wolf is a beautiful little river with a gentle current... we will have a "chase" bus if a group of you want to float down the river... we'll be able to pick you up about a mile or so downstream. The fishing ain't bad, either! Fourth... We are looking for volunteers to help with the show. We also need some supervisors to take over and run the gates, security, parking, etc. If you have some experience running a show and would like to help let us know. The supervisor jobs will be a paid position... you won't get rich but the pay will help you cover some of your expenses. The volunteer jobs will be for a couple hours each... we'll try to have enough guys to help out so no one misses much of the show. Volunteers will get some kind of goodies for helping out... and a big thank you. Fifth... We'd love to give out as many prizes to the participants as possible. If you are a vendor or know of a hot rod supplier that may be able to help us out with some door prizes let us know. And finally... we are working right now to book the entertainment for the show. Stay tuned for some announcements soon. Our posters and flyers will be available in a few weeks... let us know if you would like to distribute some at your local shows, parts houses, etc. Thanks.
Hey Rick, we are looking forward to coming down! Save us a campsite by the river. Let me know when to pay! Should I plan on bringing the Fiat?
My mother always used to say: "I would rather owe you my whole life than cheat you out of it" I am going to try to get registration up this week. I have a map of the campground area coming to me in the next few days and if anyone wants to register, they can do so by calling me during the day at my shop (920)235-1020. I can take CC over the phone, PayPal or you can mail me a check at 2290 Harrison St, Oshkosh, WI 54901. Make it out to Mike Rosenow for the time being, until Rick and I get around to setting up an account. I will have a formal form up this week hopefully, I started on it tonight. If you want to get a jump on things, you have my contact info. If you don't feel comfortable paying me, you can pay Rick, just don't let Breeder tell you he is part of this gig. Price for camping is $25 in advance and it included power hookup and two admissions. $25 for a weekend car participant admission, in cludes two admissions. $10 for weekend spectator. So camping and getting your car in is $50 for the weekend and will get 4 people in the gates. That is $10 savings over day of the show prices and we will be doing something special for those who preregister. That also means no long lines when you get to the show!!!
We will be giving away two FREE general admission weekend passes every week from now until just before the show. To qualify, all you need to do is sign up on the mailing list!! There is a link to it on the website.
Sign up on our mailing list and we will be giving away a pair of FREE WEEKEND GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS each week until August 1, 2009. We normally only reserve this privilage for our friends and pretty girls...however we will make an exception in this case. Click here to get on our mailing list!
I wasn't sure which Symco post to post on since there are about 3 trillion of them so I picked this one. I took Cliffy's advice and drove over the the showgrounds after leaving from the Iola show, and it is super cool!!! We are looking forward to the show. What a cool place to do it at. We are stoked!
