Do you think that the short main shaft of the Jeep T-176 would fit in the T-170 gears and transmission ?

I will still be using the stock Model A rear with 3.78 gears and 21" radials.
According to the GrimmJeeper gear ratio calculator, with the T-176 I should be going 71 mph at 3000 rpm and 59 at 2500. 71 is as fast as I'm interested in going with mechanical brakes, even with the Flathead Ted kit... maybe a bit faster than I want, haha. I don't see any need for overdrive at this point, but I can always add taller rear gears if I decide to reduce rpm's.

    Very handy calculator.

I think it will fit all the Ford top loader 4 speeds. I did quite a bit of research a couple years ago and that is what I recall, but my recaller sometimes lies to me.
Beanscoot or someone else may know for sure.

    Hi Guy's,
Can anyone share what clutch drive plate Ken Parker used with his conversions using stock Model A flywheel & pressure plate! I live in Australia and have no one who can identify!
    8 - 7/8 diameter with 1 - 1/16 input 10 spline.

Thanks so much to Manyolcars for a reply , Ken Parker replied on Ford barn, 1969 falcon 200cu 6 cyl with Autozone No D923. In Australia cross referenced no 9 inch plate is available but they carry thru EXEDY Brand a 9.5 in plate same 1-1/16 input 10 spline part number FMD101U comes out of many Aussie Fords with 200 cu 6 cylinder cars with 4 speed g/box. Still yet to see if it spins in a standard Model A pressure plate!

Exedy clutch will not work as centre spring plate protrudues thru clutch plate both ways. Am trying to source a clutch plate that the springs in centre do not protrude anymore than friction plate material. (like orig model a ford)
