Event Coverage Syracuse Nat's 2013

Were about 5 weeks out and I haven't seen a Syracuse Nationals thread. (I searched)

Who's all going?

What's the deal with the drag racing? I heard someone got struck by a t-bucket last year, and they will no longer be drag racing. (rumors?)

I'm considering bringing my project car to show rather than my driver, what do you think of that idea?

 

I'll be there on Friday only.

 

I still haven't sent in money because the swap price went up 50% over last year.

There also is that Bouckville thing coming up the end of the month - who's going to that?

 

What's going on in Bouckville in June? I've gone to the huge antique show in August, but haven't heard anything about stuff in June.

Lost Kustoms CC are good dudes. I still remember piling a bunch of drunks in my Desoto to drive out to the drags. Make sure you guys drag Kohler's ass out this year!

I saw the Boukville ad in the back of the swapsheet looking for "car related vendors" I really hope I can make that.

Last year I only went on Friday. Not by choice though. I blew my engine on the way home after the show Friday.

Swap meet Thurs-Sun, car show Sat and Sun

Cheap enough, I'm just not sure I want to tie up four days to the swap meet.

 

Im going to both the Nationals and bouckville.

Planning of Bouckville Saturday, and Mopar Madness on Sunday . the first of a new event is always an iffy deal. Hope it gets good attendance. Nationals, probably just cruise the Hotel areas in the evening.

 

For Bouckville, I just can't see two days of swap meet out there before the show even starts - for what, the same local guys who go to all the other local shows? The price isn't bad, but I don't want to devote all that time to it. Then it's opposite a swap in Lockport that's established, so there's a percentage that will stick with that that otherwise might come.

At least with the Nats you have people from all over the place walking around for two days and if I sleep in a little Sunday it doesnt much matter.

 

I seen it advertised in Hemmings also. I'm going to shop, but not sure which day. Who knows...maybe this could have the popularity of Carlisle or Hershey some day...

 

I'll be there with a bunch of guys from Canada.

 

We'll be leaving bright and early friday morning...around 5am to make sure we're there in time to play. Might even be drunk before noon.

 

I have a room with 2 beds at Super 8 for Syracuse. The guy who was going with me can't go,so if anyone needs a place to stay,I have an extra bed and can reserve a rollaway if 2 would need a place. It is a smoking room and I am old,smoke,drink beer,fart,and get grouchy. (Just so you know). It is for 3 nights (thur,fri,& sat). On the map it looks close to the host hotel.

We have quite a variety of rare and famous race cars from all forms of motorsports attending. Thanks to Upstate Cellular, the new Frantic Ford Mustang funny car will be on display outside our main entrance. They have agreed to fire the car up prior to every auction to draw people into our building. BlueTiger Racing simulators are bringing two of their units which visitors can make a donation to the charity to go for a ride. For all of you pinstripers, who THINK you can drive a race car... There is going to be Friday night side-by-side drag racing where you will compete for the Artie's Party Top Eliminator trophy!

I went to Bouckville yesterday. It rained just long enough to get ya wet, then stopped long enough to let you dry out, then repeated all day. Lots of roads flooded yesterday. If you go don't do what we did and stop at the first field you see with all the tractors and tents. There wasn't shit for car parts there, I got out and said "This is it!?!?!" Then as we were leaving we decided to go into town more and thats where everything was. In and around the pole barn. Lots of parts, I imagine there will be more vendors today and tomorrow. I cleaned out all the good stuff though, so just give up now.....

What do you guys think about me bringing bringing my unfinished Model a project to display? Next question, if your towing it behind a custom does it get in for free? haha

I did finally buy one spot. At least if it rains it's on blacktop and not mud.

Hopefully nice weather and not so hot that I can walk around and see as much as possible.Night time at the Holiday Inn should be a hoot!!!

 

I will be there Friday no matter what. I'm really working hard to get the dodge ready for its first trip. Keep an eye out for me. If I don't make it, it's because I couldn't get insurance haha!
