Not actually. In the early 80's they still made the T10. It wasn't until around 1984 that the T10 stopped production.
Wholy Fook! They have gone up a lot, bought this one from either Jegs or Summit over twenty years ago.
I think it was around 1981 that the F-body Super T10 changed to a wider ratio with a 3.42 first gear ratio to compensate for the much steeper rear gear ratios they were putting into the Z28's and Trans Ams. I'm using one in my '38 cabriolet build along with a 2.43 rear gear ratio as a poor man's overdrive equivalent. I scored mine for $300 five years ago...(almost ripped my jeans trying to get at my cash before he changed his mind!).
Here is correct Gear Ratio guide... Naturally google search "AI" info is Wrong http://www.dandltransmission.com/borgratio.html 6 groove input shaft is 3.42 first gear..... Low first, wide ratio trans More tech stuff http://www.pontiacpower.org/BW.htm .
Man, I bought an M-20 with a Hurst for $75 from a buddy. He was building a bracket car w/T400, so the 4spd was jut in the way! It went into my '62 Impala at the time. Early 80s, knew it was a deal, but damn...prices nowa days!
