I have a chance to buy a limited quan***y of remanufactured T5 trannies (the S-10 pickup version). They would have a 2 year warrantee. No exchange required, although we could offer an exchange price for those who could provide a rebuildable core. Before I bite on this, I am trying to get a handle on what folks have paid for a rebuilt T5....ready to go. Can anyone tell me what they paid recently...either for an off the shelf rebuilt or to have their own rebuilt (include the cost you paid for your own used core). Thanks for your help!......Mac VP

I have seen some go for $600-$800. That was no core.

core goes for about $150-$200 around here for a t-5... to have one gone over and rebuilt is $500 and up, depending on whats wrong, if anything with it...just make sure they're either divorced bell housing units or they came from out of a big v-6 truck...

Also, note what sort of speedometer hookup they've got; the older mechanical hookup gearboxes are more popular than the later electronic hookups.

    A add I found.

SS series T5 : Basically a stock 3.35 ratio WC T5 completely rebuilt to stock specs . Should hold up on average to about 300 hp in a street car setup . $650.00 + core

HP350 series T5 : Fully built 3.35 ratio WC T5 . Features brand new Tremec gears inside it with carbon fiber syncro rings , timken bearings , steel bearing retainer and billet aluminum counter shaft support plate (helps with case flex) . This unit is good for about 350 hp in a street car setup . $850.00 + core

HP375 series T5 : Fully built 2.95 ratio WC T5 . Features brand new Z spec Tremec gears inside with carbon fiber syncros , timken bearings , steel bearing retainer and billet counter shaft support plate . This unit is good for about 375 hp in a street car setup . $975.00 + core

A huge part of pricing comes from how well you do***ent each one. If it just comes with a story about being rebuilt it's a lot different than if it comes with a receipt on shop letterhead and maybe a photo of it with the covers off. Personally, I'd be wanting into them for no more than $400 apiece and would really be shooting for $250-200 apiece to make it worth my while as a seller. Especially if I was buying a half dozen. Good luck
