My trans swap is on hold for my 49 Ford. I can't find a slip yolk for my T-85-C with R-11 O/D. I have have been searching for over week, and have came up snake eyes every time. The output on the trans is 1.375" with 16 splines. Come on help a brother out.

  2. There is a slip yoke that Chevy and Ford actually shared. It fits first gen Powerglides with 16 spline output. ****er part # 2-3-5281X. It uses the common 1310 series u-joint, 5-153x or Precision 369.
Chevy used the slip yoke on pickup 3 speed transmissions up to about 1966.
I don't know the ID codes of what Ford trannies it fits.

  3. I had a '57 Ford with a T-85. I put a T-10 4 speed in it and I don't remember changing drive shaft yolks. Ford used T-10's way up into the 60's. Of course this was 45 years ago too so may have forgot but don't think so..

I checked a T-10 trans, the one I have has a different spline count. I am still working some other leads. Thanks for your time.Jessman49

Way back when, I used T85 trans, first in a sreet machine behind SBC in '53 Stude, later in a '55 Chev dirt track car. The trans came from a '56 Merc.
IIRC, a Chev yoke fit it as well as the Merc yoke.
