I started working on my 32 5w earlier this summer. The car's complete history is unknown but it was some sort of jalopy built in the '40s best I can tell by the parts used. See link below to see how it was found. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=572849 My plan for the build is a simple pre-war build. Flathead powered, 3spd, closed drive banjo rear. The frame that came with the car was junk and I just happened to have an extra 32 frame but it was a little rough because it had been built by a hack for a '60s or 70's build. The body needs most patch panels, new subrails, and a floor but overall its pretty straight and the doors fit good. Here are some pics of when I got it, and some progress.
Frame Progress. I think a lot of people would have started with fresh rails, but i couldn't bring myself to use new rails or spend a bunch of cash for a better original. A lot of cutting, grinding, welding, and straightening was in order. Its on its way. I flattened a '40 ford rear cross member, welded in a model a front crossmember, and installed my extra original K member. I had a nice '32 steering box, column, drop, and wheel, so it is going to get used in this car.
Mock up pictures. Fitted with new subrails and floor. Im using UPAC pieces, they appear to be top notch quality and fit the original frame nicely. I changed the angle of the column so I made a spacer. Body will now come back off and all old pieces of subrail and floor removed. I plan to have the body finished this winter and ready for the chop.
I had a couple questions on where the rear legs attached to the K member came from. As much as I would like to say I made them, I can not. I bought them from ELpolacko in the Hamb. or www.industrialch***isinc.com The pieces are fantastic quality. He makes two versions, one for a stock floor and the other for a flat floor.
Since I can not Hot Rivet like Ford did originally, I did the next best thing. I made my own with weld. I have a little cleaning up to do, but it looks 100 x's better than bolts.
Warning the subscribers, I will be a little slow. My little boy is turning 4 and I have another one due in March, and I work all the time. But, my plan is to have it on the road next summer. Tim

Nice build. Got a Question, won't the front boxing plate interfere with the steering box mounting to the frame or are you going to modify some how?
Looking great...Will have to watch this one. It don't get any better than watching another orignal 32 come together
I cut a triangular shaped hole in the boxing plate that is just big enough to slip a 32 box mounting tab thru. Thanks for all the compliments.
