Thanks! Looking at 6.50-16 fronts for my truck and 7.50 rear. But your fronts give it a much lower look.

Put the top insert in over the weekend. So it doesn't balloon while driving WFO I put in a 3/16 oak plywood. In process pic below will take final pics later.

Ooh, I like it!!! How did I miss this thread, black and unchopped, flathead, great ride height and tire choice, those wheels are great too without the hubcaps. Sorry to sound ignorant, but what are the hubs and wheels from? I have done a lot of VW's and a 356, you just gave me another idea for a VW project, those are easy, I think I can do them in my sleep! ha! Here are the hubs and brakes I have been using on the Beetle and Squareback, sorry to get off track, but these might look cool on the right 32 or 34, more stuff to think about! And these are 16" wheels so a lot of good bias ply or dirt track tire set up!

Shelby, the Krauts stole the idea for those wheels from Henry Ford. Ford started using their wheel in 1936.

  6. Tim, Are you driving it out to the hill climb?

No on a trailer (which I hate). Not near enough miles on it to drive that distance. Bringing the family too so truck with car in tow is the smart choice. I don't make many smart choices.

  8. Tim,
I understand the truck and trailer with the new ride somewhat untested for the long haul. See ya there.

  9. Take pictures, Tim! Lot's of 'em!

Sorry about that, I got some bad gas and my brain was backfiring, I thought it was on the later Fords but it didn't make sense that they would have been on later Fords, I was thinking they should have been on the pre 31's. Glad I found T & A Flatheads unchopped project, very unique and creative!

Pics of the roof insert. 1st on I've ever done. Think it turned out pretty good considering it had galvanized metal screwed in place of the insert and a tree had fallen and caved in the left rear corner.

  16. Tim, I missed hooking up with you as every time I was around the 32 you were not. But I did see you when you made your run up the hill. We were down just before you turn the corner to start up the hill.
Sure was a great event was it not?

It was great! The car didn't like the altitude at all, and my tranny is trying to come apart on me so I had to baby it more than I wanted. So, I have a few things to finish and a few new things to fix.

That's a fantastic photo of you and your boy detailing the 32.

I saw this yesterday, and wondered if someone would call it. That's him with his boy right there too, looks like a nifty time.

  24. Tim, the 5w really turned out awesome! I just found this thread, from where you started.... MAN!
Nice work, and thanks for bringing it to HRHC!

Thanks Mike! Nothing like shaking bugs out of a fresh build by racing it up a mountain!!!

  26. Saw this car in person at the Hot Rod hill climb and "nice" is such an understatement. It is an awesome car. Excellent work Tim!

Thanks for finding this one. I hadn't seen it. My son Sam had a great time. He really likes the events that Mike and the gang puts on. Sam really gets into it.

Thanks. It was good seeing you and the family at the HRHC. Watching your kids have fun dancing was priceless.
