Sqeek did say he had seen the Roadster...and that it had lost the deck lid along the way.

That Roadster could be a contender... the pinnacle of the late 40's Era! ...or it could go the other direction in the latest trend.

Maybe it's time for someone to post up the definition of what a TRUE "taildragger" is...or be forever destined to beat your heads against the wall...

I like it. Lifetime membership here. (May I never see a 32 highboy with a louvered hood & trunk again....) I love you Jimi, but I can still tolerate surf music.

Yeah I didn't realize that the decklid wasn't bolted down. Heading north up the grapevine it flew off. Fortunatly I had a spare.

Trying to stay as traditional as possible. At least with appearance.

  25. Thanks guys, just trying to keep these threads on the right track.

I shot the picture in black and white and Rik gave it some of his touches :)

Taildraggers...33-48 Models for FoMoCo, same for GM Models, and for Mopar's it may vary

Yes I have to mostly agree with this.

To me.. but this might be a personal opinion.
A taildragger is a car built from 1935 till 1948. With a few exceptions.
Cars with distinctive and full "separate" front and rear fenders of the "Fat" kind.
So in my book even the 33-34 Fords do not fit the "taildragger" description.
And they must have a speed boat stance which is with a lower rear end of the car hence the name tail dragger.

And even thought I really love Jeff's 1950 Mercury, in my book this is not a taildragger.

  30. I know mine is technically a little new yearwise to be considered a true taildragger due to the bodystyle.I was really wanting to show more of the stance and how it was done to resemble Jerrys Merc, which was done to the late 40s -early 50s style.
